Off Topic · New York's championship slump! What could it be? (page 1)

I'd like to take a moment to point out that New York City has not gone without a championship team for more than 7 years. We have not gone without one more than that span, not since 1921.

Now I hate to say it and I don't want to sound incensitive, but it seems since 9/11, our sports world has not been the same. I wonder if it has had a lasting effect on the Cities psyche? As far as sports, we don't seem to be as competitative and this seems to reflect the event. It could just be a coincidance, but there could very well also be a link to the event. I hope it is not. Like I said, I don't want to sound incensitive, but the Yankees and Mets are the last chance we have of keeping this phoenominum going. Just thought you'd like to know that interesting fact.

I have thought about this for a while.

Larry Silverstein bought WTC FOR 15 Million dollars and in return recieved 7.2 billion dollars in insurance money.

WTC 7 had many records of the U.S SECRET SERVICE, CIA,MAYORS OFFICE OF EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT. Was this builiding the hub of the 9/11 plan ?

Lost forever in WTC 7 were 1000 of SEC case files on coporate fraud including those related to notorious activities Corporate Giants WorldCom and ENRON a few indcitments of stock fraud but what of the 70 Billion Dollars California electricty swindel... it all dissapeared.

The leaders in NYC sold out the people their and America all on one day.

Yeah, I didn't mean for this to turn into a conspiracy thread.

It's not really the players who are for the most part new to our teams that I was referring to. It is the fans that I'm wondering about. The fans have an effect on our teams. There is a certain relationship there. There's just something strange in the air here. That sports fan killer instinct seems to have died somehow. I have found a lot of our everyday New Yorkers a litle more timid in some ways. I can't quit put my finger on it. Have any of you's noticed that? I went to a couple of Yankee games, a few years after it happened and it just seemed to be on everyones mind. How the hell can anyone forget?!

That's my point, intelligent NYORKERS fell something because there was something.

Their city and citizens were used in a plot to put fear IN and destroy americans minds. DUH

If something was wrong, why are the "intelligent NYORKERS" doing anything about it? It doesn't seem like you have done any of your own research on what happened that day. I really don't think you know what you are talking about half the time but you are completely lost on this.

Have you actually followed the research thats being done on this? Have you done any research on your own? DUH!! The impression that I get from reading most of your non-basketball posts are that you borrow someone else's idea. You let them do the thinking for you. It just seems like you are ready to believe the worst and you will follow anyone that tells you what you want to hear.

silverfuel, do you know the history of this country when it comes to wars and our own CIA causing havoc overseas. go check out the thread secret goverment and learn something. Sounds like you need a history lesson, because all we are doing is repeating it.

none of it was on domestic soil and most of it was proposed actions. overseas is different from at home. history has nothing to do with your stupid conspiracy theories. good jobs hijacking a perfectly good thread and turning it over with your bs political agenda.

I am pretty torn on both of your views here about what playa is saying. I don't want this to get too out of hand, but maybe I can end this conspiracy by just saying 'from birth, we are all brain washed into something or another. In most people's minds, that is the way life goes for them and nothing else matters or maybe they can be so self rightous, that they feel that everyone one else is wrong about they're views and feelings on things that go on around out lives. We all know that our Goverment or some secret group of people within the Goverment has conducted secrets, either for the purpose of doing good for the people or using the people for some other purpose, even sacrificing some of those people one way or another. It's happened many times throughout our own story, as the United States and even before we became the States. The point is, what do you believe or what do you want to or don't want to believe in. To some folks, pulling out a dollar bill and seeing George Washington all of your life is a conspiracy. And maybe they are right! You might look for a certain street in a certain town and realize that the street names are very simular to each other as one group of people they were named after long ago. I could go on and on with different points of view on this. Hell' (and speaking of hell) some could even make the point of the bible being pushed as the only book to read. Be it as it is, we are born in a country that has created and accepted the kinds of things we do in this society. We can make the same case for virtually any other country. We can be self rightous and say they are doing it wrong and should do it like us. So the question is, what exactly is conspiracy theory, when you are born into it? Maybe there is a conspiracy to talk about conspiracy to begin with and what would it mean in a bigger picture?

Personally playa, the 9/11 event. For someone to destroy those buildings, kill all of those people and have a war start, to kill roughly 100,000 more, just to destroy some documents would be absolutely insane! From my own conscienceness, I would hate to think that could be possible. From the point of my paranoia, anything is possible'.

I think people will have to get back to a normal life eventually, if you can call it that, but it needs to be taken slowly, hence a part of the whole point of this thread.

These people responsible are satanic at the least. Being powerful and greedy has ruined our nation and you can see it's influence on Tv everywhere.

Some people think the only thing to live for is gaining the most money and finding out who has the most power in the end before they die.
