The 23-year-old son of rapper KRS-One was found dead in his Atlanta apartment last weekend in an apparent suicide.

Randy Hubbard Parker died on Friday from a gunshot wound to the head, according to the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s office. It also said the cause of death was suicide.

Simone Parker, KRS-One's wife and Randy's mother, released a statement yesterday (July 10) expressing belief that her son's death was related to "severe depression."

The family is planning a private memorial service in Florida on July 18, which would have been Randy's 24th birthday. There are also plans for an August memorial service in New York

what a tragedy. i just heard him speak on sirius radio a couple of days ago. damn.

Depression is a bitch. All these young kids willing to kill themselves. It is really sad. I remember Tony Dungy's son killed himself last year over some foolishness. Each one of us needs to try to reach out to these kids needing some guidance.

All of is get depressed about something. Just like all things , sometimes people can't handle it.

To anyone out their depressed. Be cool brother. Stick around this site and get your mind off of reality for a little while. Why else do we waste so many hours of our lives posting on this board? We are all suffering from something, lol.

Unfortunately, clinical depression is a bigger deal than the occasional feelings of depression. I have seen and for a brief period lived with someone suffering from clinical depression. It's no joke. Get the person help asap.
