rap soloists- nas, big daddy kane, and rakim
rap groups- tribe called quest, public enemy, fugees
rap duo- gangstarr, pet rock and cl smooth, eric b and rakim
best producers- primo, marley marl, shaleed muhhamed
dj's on wax- jazzy jeff, terminator x, eric b
female rappers- lauryn hill, latifah, lyte
best single/song- top billin/ audio two, so watcha sayin/ epmd, T.R.O.Y./ pete rock and cl smooth
best remix song- scenerio ( remix)/ tribe and leaders of the new school, ante up ( remix)/ mop, wreckognize ( remix)/ smif and wesson
