good sh_t, Jacobs is on his feet on the sidelines.
GKFv2 @ 12/7/2008 3:19 PM
If we lose any game, I'd take this one. It would be a wake-up call and give the Giants another reason to beat down the Eagles in the playoffs.
TMS @ 12/7/2008 3:19 PM
how do u leave Pierce to cover Westbrooke 1 on 1 in coverage? at least have a safety come up & hawk the guy... dammit, the G-Men are laying an egg this week... LET'S GO GUYS! GET YOUR HEADS INTO THE DAMN GAME!

It's not that big of a deal. It's better to lose now and work on the things they did wrong than when it is too late.
TMS @ 12/7/2008 3:30 PM
nothing is a guarantee in the NFL... we have a chance to lock up the division this week at home against a team we should beat... until we have home field locked up throughout the playoffs, it's a big deal.
TMS @ 12/7/2008 3:31 PM
Eli's throwing up lame ducks on this end of the field... running game's being stuffed by the Eagles' D... no more end zone switches coming... not good.
GKFv2 @ 12/7/2008 3:32 PM
Yeah, nothing is a guarantee but losing in the playoffs(we will get there...it's a lock) is not the way I want to go. They can look at the tape from this game and correct their mistakes and always check their egos as well. They beat Philly badly in Philly and now they're playing like shit in NJ. It's a reality check that was coming to this team for a while. I love them to death but they needed. They will come back next week and haul ass.
TMS @ 12/7/2008 3:34 PM
they didn't beat Philly badly in Philly, they won by 5 pts... they should've been able to look at the film from that game for this week's game... i'm not jumping the ship after 1 loss but this is a game they should win.
GKFv2 @ 12/7/2008 3:36 PM
The score was not indicative of their play there.

BTW, I hate McNabb. Really, really hate him.
TMS @ 12/7/2008 3:37 PM
GOD DAMN i hate that Donovan McNubb... freakin' showboatin' in our house... most overrated QB in football... somebody lay that sucka out on his feet!
TMS @ 12/7/2008 3:48 PM
game's over... Giants laid an egg this week... i hope this motivates them to play harder next week like u said dude... i can't stand to see as great a team as this playing like crap.
VDesai @ 12/7/2008 3:51 PM
The Eagles killed us by staying patient enough to get 3/4 yard chunks on first and 2nd and then converting 3rd and shorts and other 3rd downs by getting Westbrook or LJ Smith matched up against Pierce.
TMS @ 12/7/2008 3:57 PM
come on get this on side kick! STILL GOT A CHANCE!
TMS @ 12/7/2008 3:58 PM
k, game's over.
VDesai @ 12/7/2008 4:02 PM
Recievers didn't step up and make crucial plays when they needed to. Conditions were tough. I thought Eli was actually on target in the first half and they should've made more plays.

The Eagles had our number and countered our D perfectly all day. The weakness of the D is the middle of field with Pierce covering a RB or a TE as there isn't a player in the league he can stay with. They usually try to cover that up by getting to the QB, but today McNabb avoided a couple of sacks, and other times we were just blocked, and Westbrook and Smith absolutely killed us when they were isolated against Pierce.
TMS @ 12/7/2008 4:11 PM
they should have won this game easily like i pointed out earlier... Hixon dropped a sure TD bomb pass from Eli early & they had a blocked FG where the long snapper completely failed to block his man off the snap... that's 10 points right there.

Hixon's drop was unacceptable...that said the O had 211 net yards and Westbrook had 203 by himself. If not for the 70 yards or so we got when the game was already decided we would've been thouroughly out gained by one player. The effort today was not acceptable and they wouldn't have beaten practically anyone with the game they played today on both sides of the ball.
VDesai @ 12/7/2008 4:14 PM
Giants now have to worry about injuries as Aaron Ross and Brandon Jacobs both left the game and never returned.
TMS @ 12/7/2008 4:16 PM
i agree, the effort just was not there this week... it's sad to see them playing this way, they've been able to overcome distractions all year & to come out & lay an egg like this now after all this w/Plax & Pierce... i thought they would have a better showing for themselves... i don't blame Pierce for not being able to cover Westbrooke, i blame the coaching staff for leaving him out to dry like that... u gotta have a safety come up & cover that guy out of the backfield at the very least.
TMS @ 12/7/2008 4:16 PM
ah well... GO STEELERS!!!
Pharzeone @ 12/7/2008 4:19 PM
1. Tuck is a tad overrated. Not so easy to shine without Strahan commanding those double teams.
2. Those who foolish thought that the Giants wouldn't feel the effects of losing a Plaxico Burress just got a huge wake up call. Giant receivers got a big wake up call too, much easier for defensive coordinators to gameplan when they are sure they don't have to worry about doubling Burress. Hixon and Boss found out what happens when a capable team gameplans for them.
3. I thought Eli made some great throws but his teammates let him down. Also, the offensive line look slow compared to an aggressive athlethic pass rush. Eli did well to get those balls off.
4. No Pass Rush anymore from the Giants. Osi and Strahan are missed.
5. I heard people this week say that Pierce was more important to the team than Burress. Don't be foolish. Pierce is an above average MLB, Burress is among the best receivers in the game.
