Giants have extra picks this year and don't have the roster space that would allow for all of them to make the team. So a trade up or a picks for a player trade is a virtual certainty.
Trading up for Crabtree makes too much sense... the team that has a draft pick high enough to select him has a high pick because that team sucks. That team likely needs to get DL/OL/RB/QB help immediately, and the best way to do that is to trade down and turn a top pick into three potential starters.
Crabtree's having foot surgery this offseason & won't be running for NFL teams... estimated recovery time is 2 months.

I think if we trade for Edwards it will be picks and not Kiwi.
Offered without commment...The Cowboys just released TO.
two words without hesitation... HAYL NO!

Which is good news for us, because I think he'll recover just fine and teams at the top of the draft are always hesitant to draft an injured guy... but I'll imagine he'll recover and be ready for camp
Tough thing is that I don't think we have any idea what we have right now with all of the other WR's that we've been drafting over the past few years. Smith is a decent #3.
What about Manningham?
I think Manningham will eventually replace Amani Toomer, though I don't think he'll pull it off this season.
SI.com's Peter King believes that Anquan Boldin will be an ex-Cardinal by July.
King notes that both the Giants and Eagles are "in position" to trade for Boldin. The Birds have three of the top 53 picks in the draft and the Giants draft three times in the top 60. King calls Philadelphia "a perfect fit."
Rams just released Torry Holt, but news story i read says Giants aren't interested... my guess is he signs w/the Cowgirls.
That Floyd RFA-Trade seems like such a no brainer. Why wouldn't you do that? For the #60 pick? Come on.
Do that and then trade our #1 and #3 for Boldin and you'd really have a killer offense again. If Plax comes back, whoopee.
It'd be great if we traded Manning for Cutler straight up. I'm not a Manning fan. He doesn't have the spiral to get it done in the Meadowlands. That's why we kill it on the road in January, but not at home.

Super Bowl championship QB, I'm just upset that the Giants and Jets didn't put a dome on the new stadium. I don't get it they spent Billion on the stadium and they didn't even put a retractable dome. Reguardless you don't trade a super bowl winning QB.
James Butler signed with the Rams.

no thanks to Eli for Cutler... Eli's proven he can get it done in NY... Cutler's only proven he can whine like a baby off the field of play & isn't well liked by more than a few NFL players.
Eli's OK. Having him for the next 15 years, I don't know if I like him that much as our QB.

eli is a top ten qb right now imo and i think he will get better. we need to address the wr position because toomer is probably gone and the plax fiasco. two big holes for you number one and two. we could draft a wr but i don't know how deep the pool is. crabtree is a great option and i don't think anyone else is in need for a good wr except maybe our rivals ( eagles and cowgirls).

i'll be happy w/another 10 like the ones he's given us so far... that would add up to about 3 Super Bowl championships using Bonn logic.
http://www.prosportsdaily.com/comments/g... Giants and Cleveland Browns discuss trade for Edwards
March 23
Cleveland Plain Dealer
"The New York Giants have inquired about trading for Browns receiver Braylon Edwards, Ken Palmer of The Giant Insider reported.
The report debunks rumors that the Browns had talked about trading Edwards for Giants defensive end Mathias Kiwanuka. Instead, the Giants reportedly offered Cleveland the two draft picks they received from the Saints last year in exchange for tight end Jeremy Shockey: a second and fifth.
The Browns asked for receiver Steve Smith instead and were told no. The Giants then offered either of two other receivers, Domenik Hixon of the University of Akron and Mario Manningham, a native of Warren, Oh. The Browns declined both.
Talks ended after that, but could heat up around draft time, the report speculated.
The Giants might need a marquis receiver if Plaxico Burress goes to jail, and coach Tom Coughlin told the Newark Star-Ledger at the NFL Combine last month, "it'd be great to have a player, if it's not Plaxico, but with Plaxico's magnitude, on our football team.""
It is indefensible that Eli still doesn't know how to throw into the Meadowlands wind.
He just doesn't throw a tight spiral. If there's not gusting winds then he's fine, but if there is then its a problem.
Kerry Collins threw a nice tight spiral, but Eli's the one w/the SB ring on his finger.

Eli won that SuperBowl with wins on the road, not in the Meadowlands.
Eli is fine. He will be an NY Giant for a very long time. He's never gonna put up the huge stats, but he'll win more big games than any of his contemporaries.
