on our way to 7-5... DAL & PHI both at 8-4 & they play each other the last game of the season in Philly, so u know at least 1 of them will lose another game this season, & both teams have a rough schedule coming up... if we beat Philly next week, we're looking good to make the playoffs (assuming no stupid letdowns vs. CAR & WAS)... we play MIN the final week but they may be resting their regulars at that point... i think 10-6 will get us into the wildcard, maybe even win the division... we now own the tiebreaker vs. DAL & if we can split vs. PHI i like our chances to win the NFC East.
VDesai @ 12/7/2009 12:56 AM
Isn't it great to beat Dallas?! No matter what kind of season it is, its always good to give it to the Pukes.

If we beat Dallas next week we are really in the driver's seat to win the division. Dallas still has to face New Orleans and San Diego and Dallas and Philly both face each other once. So basically if we beat Philly next week and hold serve in the games we are supposed to win there is no way we don't finish past at least one of those teams.

Tommorow's Green Bay-Baltimore game is big too. Green Bay is the only non NFC East team in our way for the Wild Card. If they fall back into at ie with us we are in a good position for a playoff spot.

I think if Ross, Canty, Boley are able to stay healthy and get back in the groove on D we can make some noise. Ross has been a boost to us at safety, and so has Aaron Rouse. The Aaron Ross/Aaron Rouse combo at safety may prove to be as confusing to defenses as it is to announcers. Actually I really think Kiwanuka has upped his game lately. Hopefully Osi and Tuck get healthier and those 3 really end the season on a pass rush tear, because our Third and Long defense is still a major problem.

i love beating dallas but it would be better beating the philly turkeys more! i really hope they do it this week and hopefully dallas woke the giants up and show why they dominated earlier this year. however, the eagles have always been a thorn on our side ever since reid has been calling the plays. he usually outcoaches coughlin. i hope coughlin and the giants will bring their a game this week because they need it. philly is usually hot in the month of december and after yesterday's game it seems like this year is no exception.

at least we have the home field next week... should be an exciting game... i hate Philly more than any other team in football, would be SOOOO satisfying beating those fuggers!
kam77 @ 12/7/2009 4:23 PM
Giants favored by 1 at home.

yeah, and rub it mcnabbs face who seems so disrespectful, especially his little stunt last year with the phone during the playoffs. man, they should have decapitated him on the next play or even on the sidelines. they lost at that point anyway. when the giants play dallas they have fire in their eyes but with phily they just play it like another game. i dont get it. philly no doubt gets fired up to play the giants and we should be that way too against philly. hope they are right now because our season depends on it.

Philly takes it to us on defense & the G-Men have a hard time picking up their various blitz packages... Cowboys seem to lay back on their heels a little more & play us straight up... when Eli has time to throw he gets into a rhythm & finds his receivers, but Philly doesn't let him get comfortable in the pocket.

MaTT4281 @ 12/13/2009 10:41 PM
Giants grabbed an interception for a potential game changer, and Eli follows up with a fumble on 1st down.
MaTT4281 @ 12/13/2009 10:49 PM
And now Hixon runs it in 67 yards for the go ahead TD!
eViL @ 12/14/2009 4:20 PM
only in a giants game will they not pick up a fumbled ball they thought wasn't fumbled only to fumble later after they thought they were tackled. what the hell!?!?!
jusnice @ 12/14/2009 4:41 PM
I am so glad I decided to not go the the game last night. With this team, you just know you are not going to get consistent, high-level play on all fronts. We were embarassing last night in so many regards. The Eli fumble was ridiculous - looks like he needs to attend sliding school with Mr. Sanchez...

Eli was not a problem last night. The defense was horrible. Looks like our season went to the crapper when Kenny Phillips went down.

I wasn't gonna say I told you so- but since you brought it up. We didn't have the safety depth to make up for it. But what is scarier and what was less predictable is how badly our tackles have fallen off. Fred Robbins was a beast the last 2 years- overlooked or the pro bowl. This year he hasn't even made 1 play. Cofield also has been invisible.

i think we still make the playoffs as the 2nd WC team... no way DAL is gonna make it in w/their upcoming schedule & us owning the tie breaker.

Agreed. And the reality is we're set up to play Philly round 1 in that scenario. And even though we've given up 40+ twice to them I still think we can beat them. We can move the ball at will against them. Just have to figure out a way to take care of the ball.
