After Michael Vick was knocked out the Eagles - Washington game yesterday did Andy Reid take him behind the stadium and drown him?
The GMEN are totally rolling right now. Defense under Fewell is starting to play the way it did under Spags. And NICKS is gonna lead the league in TD receptions this year or sometime in the very near future.
someone flipped a switch w/this Giants D... they are looking damn good especially against the pass... refreshing to see after getting burned down field for big plays last year.

I was almost starting to give up on our secondary, but they've done pretty good and AJ only had a couple of big plays last night. If we can win the next two in a row, that will be a big step.

I think it all hinges on the linebackers. They need to stop the run. If they don't it exposes the DBs and puts too much pressure on the DL. Each week the GMen have looked good against the pass, they've stopped the run first. When you have the DEs looking to help with the run too--that obviously doesn't help the DBs too pmuch
If you look at the box score from this past week, you see a lot of tackles by the DL and very few by the LBs. We really controlled the gaps and stayed in front of the plays. The CBs especially were great in run support and even on the blitz. We were playing more of the way we did when Spags was coaching.
The DTs have played well, but like anything, you're only as strong as your weakest link and the LBs have played better.. don't feel like they're a liability anymore. Don't need to look at the boxscore to know the DL is the strength of the Giants defense

Just saying that its a good sign the tackling his happening in the front 4 not the back 7. Canty is dominating and Cofield is playing out of his mind. We probably won't be able to afford to re-sign him.
I re-watched some of the game yesterday and I have to say the player that pops out the most is Canty. He is absolutely dominating at the line. Controlling gaps, drawing doubles, winning his matchup every time. He really freed up Cofield and the ends. It was the most dominant I've seen a Giant DT in a long time. I thought one of the biggest issues last year was the DTs were invisible. Robbins used to be a really good player but got old fast last year and and Canty was never healthy.
Canty is one of the biggest difference makers this year. A healthy Tuck and Osi clearly make a huge difference as well, but I am very impressed by Canty's play and he's gonna be a great signing after all.
Optimum isn't carrying Fox. What the F is cablevision doing. First they lose out on NFL network now no Fox. Now I have to find an alternative means to watch the game. Dolan's crew are total F ups.
What are the best options other than Cablevision?
I'm ready to cancel my "Optimum" TV tomorrow.

In all liklihood, we are switching to verizon. Cablevision is getting ridiculously expensive anyway. They are going to lose a massive number of customers because of this.... and all they are doing is blaming blaming blaming, as they did when they were in contract disputes with the other channels. This is completely messed up.

And personally, I don't give a shit who is to blame. It's Sunday and I'm not watching football?
Screw Cablevision AND Fox.

See above posts.
One of the biggest reasons why Jacobs has been running better and why Bradshaw has had a great year is that in the last weeks, Bear Pascoe has been playing FB with Hedgecock being hurt. Hedgecock's play fell of a cliff last year due to an injured shoulder and the same could be said early this year. In 2007 and 2008 he was a force at fullback blocking but I think since he's hurt his shoulder he's been a liability and has been avoiding contact. Pascoe has been excellent since he's been thrust into the fullback as an emergency replacement and today he also looked pretty good catching the ball. Since he's been installed our running game has taken off quite a bit.

i read your above posts on this topic... i argued that Jacobs still has it in him to run this way & you argued that he's run down from all the punishment he's taken over the past couple years... he looked pretty invigorated running the ball in my eyes today... he can still be a feature back.... i'm happy w/Ahmad Bradshaw & he's done a fantastic job, but don't tell me Jacobs can't do it anymore, dude can still bring it if he wants to.

I was referring to the cablevision posts. Me and other people here did not have the ability to 'see' his great game, although I listened to it. He has definitely been playing better and I hope he can keep it up, and if he does keep it up, I hope he stays with us, because he could be a true force.

ah, my bad... misunderstood... sucks that Fox & Cablevision are squeezing you guys out of the games... a friend of mine told me you can catch the games online at http://atdhe.net/watchtv.html, but i haven't given that site a try myself cuz i just watch using my Slingbox account.

I watched the Giants game via atdhe.net. It worked pretty well. You can also watch FOX shows you like there like House.
A win tonight is a good way to head into the break. We have yet to play a division opponent, so lets start off 1-0and send the Cowsluts spiraling.
From everything I *heard*, our defense was a little shaky last week, aside from the turnovers and big plays. We need to work on that and not wake up any sleeping little people. We wouldn't wanna do that would we?
