The Pentagon is protected by surface-to-air missiles. Why were they not deployed to shoot down whatever it was that hit the building?

And people still think this wasn't an inside job

This should really challenge your thinking those who think our govt didn't allow it to happen.

Why not, the WTC JUST GOT ATTACKED, also the FAA could not get communication with that plane headed towards the pentagon.

Remember Our military went bonkers when that baseball players plane was flying over the whitehouse by mistake and our military jets were all over him even with communication with the baseball players plane .

The system is activated and manned 24 hrs a day and fail safe unless manually disabled.

That was part of Minnettas testimony at the 9/11 hearing that was not included in the official report, as a young officer kept informing Dick Cheney of the inbound jets position 50 miles out sir -30 miles out sir 10 miles out sir and asked if the order still stood and cheney almost snapped his head off by telling him yes.

So prior to 6/01 AD commanders could make the decision to fire, but after 6/01 Rumsfelt had to give that order himself and he was nowhere to be found during the 20 mins prior to the crash on 9/11, leaving Cheney in a bunker to say of course the order still stands as the airliner closed in.

The anti air missles usage could be a backup or for ground assaults. It has all the bells and whistles early warning alarms tracking devices countdown and lock on systems and manned 24/7 with direct hot lines to the chief and sec Def.
