And as a Yankee. The guys still only 34 years old, with 2,356 hits. I think another World Series would be a nice career ender, when it comes, but I think the man who has done it all, I think he wants the 3,000 as a Yankee. Here's the figures.

He's coming off his third straight 200 plus hit season. If he plays three more season's, he'll have to average 216 for the next three. But if he plays four more years, then he'll only have to average 161 a year. So' with that said, I think it's safe to say he'll probably get another 200 plus next year and close to another two hundred the following. I figure he'll end up having to hit only about 127 for the next two years after those first two. At ages 37 & 38 by the time he get his 3,000. I figure he'll probably get it in the middle of the 2011 season. He'll probably want to play until he's about 40, so you can probably add another two hundred hits on top of the 3,000. I can't wait. He'll be the first Yankee to do it. Our own Donny had a chance to do it, before he hurt his back. These are two of the greatest Yankee hitters I have had the pleasure of seeing play the game.

he's going to hit at least 3400 before he retires as long as he stays healthy... he just needs to avg about 185 for the next 6 years

Wow' your ambitious! I'll just settle for the 3,000 first. At his age, it's not hard seeing him play another six year (age 40), but 185 hits a season? That might be stretching it a bit.

if he has about 3 more years of 200+ hit season, then that yearly average requirement gets bumped down... it's not hard at all to imagine a guy like Jeter who keeps himself in such good shape to get to the 3400 hit plateau as long as he stays healthy.
