1-12 while risp? sounds to me that minaya SHOULD have overpaid ramirez since none of our so called "firepower" can't get it done. same as last year. just a different number i'm afraid.

I like Murphy, he definately isn't the problem. While hitting w/RISP was a problem tonight, I thought it was dumb to not let Maine go one more innings. It would have saved Parnell or Green, and Sheff for later on rather than relying on O'Day and Cora.

why you stalkin' me jaydh - lol.
mets need 1-2 new starters. it's way too early to panic but baseball is a crazy game...
is manuel on the hotseat? imho, they should've fired him and brought in a whole new staff...
jaydh@ 4/23/2009 3:44 PM
Omar never should have gotten his extension, and Ollie should have never been re-signed. I understand why Manuel was kept, but he is looking more like Willie with his moves, or lack of moves, this year.

The Wilpons LOVE Omar. The manager will be changed 1000 times before Omar ever gets the axe.

manuel is starting to change it up and trying which is something randolph neglected to do last year. omar should be fired if we dont make it to the playoffs simply because his manny ramirez folly is coming back to bite him. the whole city wanted him and the mets could have had him but they made no effort. NONE. he provides the fire and spark that the mets need. sheffield used to be like that but he is too up there in age now. murphy needs to learn more and be in the minors. mets body language is sickening. almost non caring and i am tired of overrating these players especially david wright who puts up decent numbers when no one is on base but his clutch hitting has been horrible. thats what you want from your star player? i am going to throw something next time i see the mets screw up a bases loaded scenerio with only one out and some bum, either beltran or wright, grounding into a double play, which will probably be tonight.

imho, manuel is feeding the frenzy and is not providing a calming influence to the clubhouse...
he is talking to the press with veiled threats and it's april. why is he panicking?

Because he's not a good manager and shouldn't have been resigned.

BIG series this weekend with the phillies who come in hot winning 5 out of the last 6 games. lets see if the mets have the heart which is the one element the phils have over the mets.

phillies have one of the worst staffs in baseball (if not the worst) but dang man, they don't give a f ck and think they can win every game.
jazz74@ 5/19/2009 12:16 PM
well, it will be interesting to see what they do without their cleanup hitter with delgado. we are finally neck and neck with the phillies so we have no room for error and they have to play great ball which they didnt last night.
djsunyc@ 5/19/2009 1:49 PM
what's up with manuel throwing his guys under the bus?
the team is winning despite manuel. get rid of him and the mets can win much more.
jaydh@ 5/19/2009 9:03 PM
mental mistakes and mismanging are the mets biggest nemesis right now.

FMART IN DA HOUSE!!!
i was just going to post something along the lines of this. well, i guess we will see what the hype is all about with this kid. that is the good news about the injury bug.
djsunyc@ 5/27/2009 1:32 PM
thing happen for a reason. mets are getting hit big time with injuries but they are still winning and have a very easy portion of their schedule for this banged up roster. puts them in a prime position to make a 2nd half run when everyone gets healthy. although i don't see how livan can keep pitching the way he is.

Livan does really well against inexperienced/young hitters. And for now, I would rather Livan than Ollie. For the record, I dont think FMart is ready whatsoever, but he has speed and can play the OF well.

man, seems like the injuries are finally taking its toll. i knew last week was an abberation. we just can't fall too far away from the phillies and church and reyes might come back this weekend. that is a huge plus. can't believe santana lost last night and watch us get swept by the lowly bucs. embarrassin if we do and there goes wright showing his true colors and not stepping up when his team needs him. 0-7 so far in this series when you are the star player against a booty pitching staff. man, he doesn't belong on the all-star team let alone starting one.
