I'm beginning to agree with you. I also like Beasley and Bayless. Derrick Rose is being highly overrated at this time. Their are a lot of talented players coming up in the ranks. I think a couple more months need to pass before it becomes clear.

we'll probably win just enough games this year to end up w/the #6 or #7 pick where Isiah can draft yet another combo guard.

i'd like to see morris play before we get another bigman

This team needs to be assimilated for 3 years from now. The roster we have now has to be purged. Now the odds say we won't have pick 1 anyway---but this wasn't really a Knick thread anyway--unless we actually do have pick 1. If we do--we will take the best player available and that is Jordan. We have to remember all of these top prospects are freshmen anyway and will need time.

Texas A&M, 6-11, probably a PF in the NBA.

He's a little over 7 feet tall 245 pounds with wide shoulders and excellent athletic ability for his size. They have other good big men @ TAM--and a future NBA power forward in Joseph Jones--so Deandre has not been afforded the PT that he would've received by a school lite on big men. He leads the nation in FG% right now. When he gets the ball on the block--he simply can overpower or use his athletiscm to go over other players. He is beginning to become the MVP of a very good senior laden team. He's got a lot of work to do, but it's all teachable stuff. What he does have is not teachable--and that is why he will rise to pick 1 in this draft. Yesterday he put up 16-12-4 in 20 minutes on Rice. He has the potential to be an impact two way NBA C in the league which IMHO ranks him as pick 1 with this group.

They're two quite different players. Bynum is naturally bigger and probably a bit taller with much more fluidity, fundamentals, touch, soft hands, innate skills, passing, foul shooting he would be considered more of a five tool player--more of a Tim Duncan type[and remember Bynum is still two years away from what will be the beginning of his personal prime because of the lack of experience from a younger age]Jordan is more athletic yet raw fundamentally and wont be able to carry the same body weight. There is not much in comparison for someone with his athletic ability at his size---Dwight Howard is probably a comparison in terms of what this player can be. Now does he have the same drive and determination to be that type of player?
TrueBlue@ 1/1/2008 3:17 PM
He appears to be an Amare Stoudamire clone.

No way.

Beasley is number one pick there is no questions about this. Jordan isn't putting up the numbers in College that compare to Beasley. Beasley is a freak player that will be like LeBron, Melo, He is listed at 6'9'' just a couple of inches shorter than Jordan, and also some list beasley being 6'10. Beasley has a handle can create his own shot, blocks shots and has range on his jumper. No one will pass him he is hands down the best player in the draft. Jordan is a nice consolation prize though no doubt about it.
SupremeCommander@ 1/1/2008 5:29 PM
Originally, I thought Jordan was overrated as hell. But I'm beginning to agree that Jordan should merit consideration as the top pick.
I would ilke to point out that Derrick Rose's slipping stature is eerily similar to Chris Paul's. Paul was the consensus top pick coming into his last season at Wake, then other guys emerged as the season unfolded. I don't believe Rose has done anything to really hurt his stock, its just that other players have popped onto the radar, and as always, the unknown is more appealing.
Unfortunately, ESPN's Chris Paul page is damaged and i can't locate his freshman averages. I'd love to compare them to Derrick Rose's, because I could see Rose thriving in a Hornets/Suns/Raptors styled offense.

Here is a better video if you ahev not seen him play yet of what he can bring to the table for 7 feet tall. It shows his agility athletiscm and explosion.
