2. Mel - established the narrative format used to this day ('The Message') to talk about issues - later perfected by KRS, PE...

Run - Together with DMC and JMJ, made it possible for Tupac, Biggie and Eminem to get the bling they enjoyed. To quote Run: 'I'm the reason you started rhymin'"

*EXTRA SPECIAL BIG UPS- To Cab Calloway, Scatman and Slim Gaillard (If ya don't know, ask somebody) Who laid down the roots of rap 40 years before we were even talking about Sugarhill. Peace be unto them-
