Off Topic · OT: Gasol to Lakers (or just eViL chatting it up about everything) (page 1)

Can't believe the only thing that interests me about basketball is other teams moves -- this whole forum is off topic. The GIANTS rule. The Alba post counter is awesome.
eViL @ 2/1/2008 2:47 PM
I deleted my original post when I saw someone else broke the news, then it dawned on me that I haven't posted in a while. I've been reading though. This forum rocks.

I honestly have not watched a Knicks game in forever -- what's new?
islesfan @ 2/1/2008 2:49 PM
Well the Knicks still suck.

That's a given, but have they been sucking in new ways?? HAHA!!

Funny you should mention it but now instead of just mailing it in completely, they give a half assed effort but still lose.

I can see it now. Isiah survives another year with the improved effort...

BlueSeats @ 2/1/2008 3:03 PM
The effort is up because Balkman, Lee and Nate are getting more minutes, and Marbury is Hardawayed.

The finger pointing between Zach, Curry and Crawford remains about the same.

Be fair. That's evident progress.

True. Plus, they are only 5 games out. David Stern needs to add four more teams from the West to the playoffs and limit the East to half a bracket.

Man, the guys I like start playing when I stop watching. I take it from the "where's wilson" thread that Chandler hasn't got his shot yet.
TrueBlue @ 2/1/2008 3:10 PM
Well there goes our shot at Curry for Kwame and a 2nd rounder.

I told everyone Curry has pretty much zero value. No one wants our trash
eViL @ 2/1/2008 3:14 PM
Thanks for the thread title change. Is it possible that we are at the all-time low of the Knicks? I mean, this has to be a low since I've been a fan. The board is almost completely OT.

there is only so much you can talk about suck and these forums are almost exhausted.

How's the band doing?

The band is doing pretty good. We took a break around the holidays. We just played a show in Staten Island. And then we did this RIDICULOUS public access television show. I don't know what to make of it. It's probably going to fall into the category of "it's so bad, it's good". Only time will tell on that one. As soon as I get a hold of the video, I'll screen it for entertainment value and then post it if it's worth anything. Anyway, we're gonna take another break, but this time -- we're taking a break from shows and going back into the studio to finish up enough material for a second CD. We got two shows left -- tonight and 2/23. Hit the myspace for details.

Big ups to the UK posters that are still holding it down. I still enjoy reading, but I don't feel like I can comment much on the Knicks since I haven't been watching. All I can do is regurgitate whatever opinions I've been reading, or worse, I could whine -- but rather than that, I've been lurking. It looks like I'm not the only one. I hope I get to see this forum during a happy time. I've been enjoying the GIANTS run so much I wish the Knicks could be doing something magical. Though, in my far from expert opinion, I think we're still a long ways away.

So what's up Martin? Give me some good non-Knicks news.
BasketballJones @ 2/1/2008 9:40 PM
eVil, don't listen to the haters. I feel that the Knicks are about to turn the corner. This solid young core of guys that Isiah has brought together is really starting to gel. We just need to be patient while Isiah gets the team back on track.

Yes, I admit that it does seem like the ship is foundering, and is in danger of being dashed upon the rocks. But I firmly believe that Cap'n Isiah can right the ship, and get us back on a steady course.

Allanfan20 @ 2/1/2008 10:04 PM
Cap'n Isiah. lmao hahaha

Yes Evil, how was the Staten Island shows? I read your bulletins on myspace. Is it really gonna be your last show until July?

HAHA!!! BballJones is the protagonist on the play. Back from his, self-imposed, "breather" he's been effervescent. Feeling the rhythm, he hasn't missed a beat. He's posting and toasting.

As of now, we got one more show coming up. It's in Yonkers (2/23), we're playing with an Alice in Chains tribute band. These guys are f'n awesome. They sound EXACTLY like Alice in Chains. So if you like AIC, then you'd really like them.

But yeah, we eventually have to take a break and focus on songwriting. I'm juggling a lot of stuff right now, which is great, but some sacrifices have to be made (e.g. The Knicks). The good news is that when we do come back we'll be coming with a new crop of songs. I mean, a lot of the music is gonna be new to the people who haven't seen us -- but then there's the folks who have been to multiple shows and seen roughly the same set. We gotta give 'em something fresh. But the most important thing is that it's new to us. We gotta ramp up the songwriting and evolve a little bit. It's about time we turn the corner as a team.
martin @ 2/2/2008 2:44 PM
^ yo eViL, Knicks are giving you a 2-3 year window to write songs. I feel it.

Thanks for reminding me how much fun it is to make fun of the Knicks:
