Bitty you are all over this! Good to see someone else besides the regulars comment on what is taking place in America.

That 22 year old was used just like the black drug dealer in compton calif was used with the contras arms deal being funded by drugs.

This is really old news, and it was also being shipped out of Vietnam in the 60's.

This is wrong. Government involved in drug selling is wrong.

But did it create the demand? Was the appetite for drugs there and the only way to "tax" it was to aid in its transport? Was this "tax" a way to undermine the black market economy and skim off of it? If not, would the amound of money flying under the rader be too much to not have a hold on? Prohibition was dropped because the jails were filling up fast and the authorities could not stop booze from being made and distributed, and thus the idea was to tax it was used.

What does this have to due with Detainemnt centers? That our government is so large that corruption exists? That wars are not started to keep some industries going? That our country is going to hell?

Newsflash Playa: It went to hell long ago! I'd say we sold out during the Louisiana purchase and never looked back.

All "great" societies (those that survived) all have some form of crimes to aid in its survival. We have a dirty and checkered past, but always have.

Don't get me wrong, IM not defending the sale of drugs, but I really doubt there is a centralized agenda to destroy people. There are sales of street drugs, it happens. It should be stopped. But it does not. There is a need for money in our governemnent to do sneaky crap that can't get funded. So organizations like the CIA have the resources to do this, and we keep those warlords happy and at the same time keep the communists in south america in check. We liked friendly dictators than unfriendly soviet bloc satilites. Same was true in the Middle East.

Pick and choosing your evils is an unfortunate reality. I had friends who worked in the "state department" and they did some pretty wild stuff in the 80's to keep things moving forward. soviet union was big into growing poppy in its southern region for heroine.

At some point in time, we have all been thrown under the bus!

Get out of here!! Where in the book? I read the whole thing and don't recall him bragging about this. Let me know, I'll check it out. Do you know the chapter? The page? That's crazy!
