2 year deal (looks to be $8 mil total)...
djsunyc @ 7/11/2008 11:53 AM
probably means nachbar is gone...

I'm not really a Hayes fan, I'd rather have Nochbar.

I noticed, and this is pathetic, that Hayes (a 6'7" perimeter player with bad knees) had the same rebound per minute #'s as Fat Curry.

He can be a sharpshooter when heathly. Good pick by the Nets and for 2 yrs only which means they'll still have cap space during the Lebron Sweepstakes

I mentioned him first and I am here to claim all my props and credibility.........cha-ching!

Nachbar may have wanted a longer term deal that the Nets weren't willing to give him... in any case i'm glad Walsh has already used the MLE on Duhon on a 2 year deal cuz we have zero need for a guy like Nachbar right now... we have plenty of swingmen as it is.

I don't know about that. They look like a 7 or 8 seed at best on paper.

Losing Jefferson hurts them this season more than Yi + Hayes + Brook helps them. But they've understood the necessity to rebuild and are going about it step by step. They're a well run club, so they should be successful.

Granted, everything falls on how well Yi and Lopez develop in Jersey, but the potential is there.

I noticed all their picks performed relatively well in the Summer League Games. They were all productive. We'll see how it translates to the NBA.

i agree, these signings are stopgap solutions just like our Duhon signing was... it's not gonna make them any kind of contending team next season... that team's complete focus is on 2010.
