I am officially taking a break with Hip-Hop (if you still want to call it that any more). I just doesn't appeal to me like when I was younger. I did get the new Nas and I can say it is the best rap album I have heard in some time. But I am trying to diversify my listening. I have been playing a lot of R&B because of my girl. The new Usher is pretty good. I grew up on reggae because of my Jamaican lineage so that's always an option. What are you listening to?
Mostly rock but other stuff too. My favorite band is Guns N' Roses, but I also love AC/DC, Van Halen, Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Metallica, Nirvana. I love guitar music. Not pure shredding though. It has to be melodic to me, although I do respect the great pure shredders for what they do. Bluesy stuff is great.
You'll hear me listen to anything though.
i got everything u can think of: 80s glam rock & power ballads, new wave, heavy metal, 90s house/techno, old school KTU freestyle & hi energy, trance, drum & bass, new age Enya, movie soundtracks, classical Mozart, hiphop, R&B, reggae, top 40s, classic rock & korean dance tracks & ballads... but i can honestly say i don't have any Asian Jazz joints in my Ipod.

you gotta have variety... and you gotta listen to stuff you wouldnt normally listen to. Share music.. rip CDs and swap MP3s with people. Something that helped boost my music collection was joining the library and bringing home CDs, ripping them and returning them.
