Knicks · If things dont workout with Roberson and his Euro contract (page 1)

*hopefully*:)

there is a kid out of Georgia Tech who has been the best 3 point shooter over the course of both summer leagues and also shot 45% at GT from 3 point land last year. He's also much bigger than Roberson at 6-5 215/can rebound defend and pass better as well. He did sign a one year contract with a Ukraine team but there is a simple buyout to it. Right now he is leading the RMR in scoring and looks like an awesome 3 point shooter. If were looking for a cheap 3 point specialist--I think the kind that are 6-5 and actually have proven they can shoot well against their peers in games with a nice 4 year tarck record at a very good school and just turned 22 is much more appealing than the undersized one-dimensional Roberson.

And his name is?

I agree about signing Roberson - how many midgets are we going to put in our back court?

It's not even about midgets as much as it's about crappy players.

Again.

Marbury (bought out or not...)
Crawful
Mardy
Nate

......we needed Duhon and Roberson to do what?

Jees that would help Anthony morrow

Nice find. His 3 pt shooting was pretty consistent throughout his college career.

Is Anthony Morrow better than Demetrius Dudley?

He's a better fit than Roberson. Dudley is almost as old as me.

I personally like the teams depth at small forward the most. Jeffries, Q, Balkman, Chandler, Gallo. Every year that Isiah has been employed by the Knicks they have drafted or acquired a small forward on draft night.

Sometime depth can be the teams biggest enemy. Chandler should get massive run at sf this year but because of depth he will probably see limited PT. Furture hindering his development.

I don't like that dude Roberson at all, A 6'2 SG with no D. the Knicks can find shooters all over the place why sign this dude now.

We should be signing this guy to the same deal as roberson got - at least he is 6'6"!
BRIGGS @ 7/25/2008 2:49 PM
Oh well we get 6-0 roberson and the Warriors get the 6-5 Morrow who has proven a lot more than Roberson and is 3 years younger better rebounder defender passer and yes much better shooter

How come Roberson shrinks an inch on each one of your posts?

Maybe because Roberson is just biodegradable garbage and not regular garbage. Either way he's still garbage.
nixluva @ 7/25/2008 4:26 PM
Still just too much made of this kid. His contract is as expendable as he is. The coach likes him and feels he can make use of him in spots, so what's the big deal? Mike has had a good 1st hand look at the kid and I do believe he has a better handle on how he may use him. If the kid comes in hot he plays longer, if not he goes back to the bench no biggie. He's not here for D, just as House has never been on any team for his D.

but could we get some D along the way? And why settle? Why not take a chance on a legit SG as opposed to another midget.

As a 5th guard, I'll take the potential of AR over the lack of potential of Mardy Collins.

LOL. What potential? The guy is 25 years old and played on three different NBA teams not lasting a season. He was so important to his last team that they said goodbye to him so he can sit at the end of the Knicks bench.

This is the key point. How often do you find on the cheap a 5th guard who can not only shoot the lights out, but now you also want a solid defensive player too. There aren't even that many decent defenders in the NBA period, much less spot duty sharpshooters.

What is this back to pollyanna stuff? Roberson barely played in the NBA and DID NOT shoot well in the SL games. And just what pro shooting guard is this guy going to defend--yes rare find we got him on the cheap
