3 way trade being talked about w/PIT & FLA, w/Jason Bay possibly going to BOS in place of Manny?
omg, please please please let this trade go through! u couldn't write up a more perfect script than for that to happen if ur a Yankee fan.
I can't understand their logic. Why would they trade Manny? Isn't he the most dangerous batter in the league?
I bet the Yanks get thir hands on Manny before his career is out.
redsox won 2 world series in 3 years. they don't have to put up with manny anymore if they don't want to.
i remember in 2005, the yankee/redsox game at the stadium where jeter dove into the stands and had to leave the game. the game goes 14 innings and every single redsox player was standing on the first step of the dugout intently watching the game...everyone except nomar who didn't want to be there anymore. he was the only guy sitting on the bench. he was traded 2 weeks later and the sox go and win the series.
it's repeating again with manny.
they have no choice really... Manny doesn't wanna be there anymore... he's making a mockery of the situation by holding up signs in the dugout that he's about to be traded for Brett Favre... u can't keep a guy like that on the team cuz he'll undermine everything the rest of the team is trying to accomplish... he's the scariest hitter on that team IMHO... Ortiz is great too but Manny's been a Yankee killer his entire career... it will be nice to see him beating up on our cross town neighbors for a change.

Nomar isn't even in Manny's galaxy in terms of offense. I know the Sox have to make this trade because Manny no longer wants to be there, but I think the Sox will feel the effects of this, so will David Ortiz without Manny protecting him in the lineup. Jason Bay? LOL. Most overated player in baseball.

Well, yeah, but so what? I mean what's it been 6 games? He's not allowed to have a rough first stretch?
Thats the problem in New York, we are constantly taking the temperature of everything. If he's still playing this poorly by August 20th, then I'll say, yeah it was a bad move.
Nady looked pretty good last time out. What was he 2/3? He's done better in his last couple starts.
could be dead as bay just got traded to the drays:
LB.com's Bill Chastain with the scoop - the Rays have acquired Jason Bay for Reid Brignac and Jeff Niemann. The Rays haven't confirmed it yet though. I wonder if Bay would DH for the Rays.

Not so fast DJ.
The Rays' pursuit of Pirates outfielder Jason Bay is off "unless a miracle happens," a source close to the negotiations told FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal.Incredible. Rosenthal thinks the Manny talks may be back on. The trade deadline has technically official passed, but that doesn't mean much. By the time the rumors filter out, they're probably an hour or so old anyway. WPGB's Rocco DeMaro agrees that the three-team Ramirez talks had resumed and were likely to go to the deadline.
The Red Sox traded Manny Ramirez to the Dodgers late Thursday afternoon, SI.com has learned.
Jason Bay is headed to Boston as part of the deal, SI.com has learned.

Say it with me.. Jason - Bay - Is - Over - RATED
this is major...this could've opened the way to the wildcard for us...
Can someone please disband the Pirates?
They traded Jason Bay and didn't even get Matt Kemp back from the Dodgers, what a god damn joke.

so let me get this straight... u were the guy who said Bay would be an epic fail in NY... if he'd come here in that trade instead & struggled u wouldn't have brought it up?

The Boston Red Sox on Thursday afternoon traded Manny Ramirez to the Los Angeles Dodgers, ending the slugger's eight-year run in Boston with a last-minute, three-way deal to beat baseball's non-waivers trade deadline. The trade is according to a high-ranking Red Sox official who was not authorized to speak about the deal because it was not final.
Ramirez and the Red Sox won World Series titles together in 2004 and 2007, but their longstanding differences recently became irreconcilable, prompting Boston to deal Ramirez in return for Pittsburgh Pirates left fielder Jason Bay.
The Pirates will receive relief pitcher Craig Hansen and outfielder Brandon Moss from Boston, in addition to third baseman Andy LaRoche and right-handed pitcher Bryan Morris from the Dodgers.
The deal capped a wild 36 hours in which trade talks with the Pirates, Marlins and Red Sox regarding Ramirez took several turns, as the Pirates all the while shopped Bay to the Tampa Bay Rays, who lead the Red Sox by three games in the AL East.
But in the end, it was the Dodgers, just a game out of first place in the NL West, who made off with Ramirez, who earlier this season hit his 500th career home run.
AAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Red Sox gave up not only Manny Ramirez, but also Craig Hansen & Brandon Moss for Jason Bay... WOOOOOOW... that's what you call being bent over a chair with a ballgag & having Ving Rhaymes & his hard, pipe-hittin' brothas goin to work on ya with a pair of pliers and a blow torch.
You like that, Theo boy? The Pirates & Dodgers just got medieval on your ass!!!
Theo declined comment after the trade was announced.
you knew Curt was gonna say something on the Manny situation... check it out... interesting comments & gives u a look into what was really going on behind the scenes, not only w/Manny...

Nady has a history in New York dude. The only history Bay has is in Pittsburgh. I'm tellin you, you don;t want anything to do with him.
