McCain picks Sarah Palin as VP. Who the hell is she? I didn't know I had to look her up. She is the Governor of Alaska. I guess McCain wants to swing the Clinton votes to him so he picked up a female.

Obama picks old man Biden to counter the he dosen't have enough experience garbage.

Now McCain goes with a women to get the female vote.


These two were not the best available VP's in america, this election is crazy, I can't believe we will have an election.

Look for an sept or october suprise(disaster) in our country where bush stays in office.

I don't know who she is, maybe his nurse. This reminds me of when Ross Perot picked Admiral Stockdale as his running mate. That dude was funny.

She definatly has some qualities that make her likable, but the experience issue is concerning. The Govenor of Alaska is a huge step away from VP of the US.

He chose this chic to swing the women vote....never heard of her. I'm listening to her speech. She's terrible. She just sounds like a typical republican. She's not saying anything. She's playing woman sympathing with the Mother, mother, mother talk. She just said something about "women getting the right to vote", bringing up clinton.....this is so disgusting. After months of suggesting that Obama is not ready to be president. McCain goes and find someone who not only has less but no foreign policy experience to be his VP on his 72nd birthday. Damn this can't be better scripted. Just got done watching Fox News who have been trying to build it up as a bold choice. It's just so laughable. Women groups have been coming out swinging (many Hillary supporters) that McCain must not really understand them at all if they think that this can swing their vote.

I had a feeling he'd pick a woman if Obama didn't. I hope no woman votes for the McCain ticket because of the VP's gender just like I hope black person votes for Obama solely because he's black.

She had backing from Neocon guru William Krystal (sp). The feeling is that she is targeted more toward the fundamentalist vote than women, although I am sure that also played a part. She was a reform Republican in Alaska who stopped the famous "Bridge to Nowhere" project, but she really hasn't been involved in big time politics for too long, and that's only if you consider Alaskan state politics to be "big time."

She is anti-abortion and had a child with Down syndrome even though she knew the results of a prenatal test. She also believes that "creationism" should be taught along with evolution in schools.

I am a social studies teacher, and not ONE person I spoke to knew who she was!

Her pick by McCain is like the Knicks choice of Fredric Weiss a few years back, and hopefully it works for him like Weiss "worked" for us.

strike that...imagine if it was a hilary/palin debate?

This pick is almost too good to be true. McCain is foolish if he believes that he will recruit disgruntle female voters from Hillary's camp; he picked about the worse female couterpart. Palin's views are not even in striking distance of Hillary's moderate stances so unless you are just a total man-hater, incredibly bitter, or racist I can't imagine any female Democratic voters casting ballots for McCain with this selection.

One thing about this election that I absolutely love is the breaking down of barriers for both minorities and women regardless of what side of the issues they fall on.
