Bonn1997 - in the gym bro'. Gotta get iin prime condition for training camp.
Did I miss anything?
It was nice Houdini act you pulled when Zeke was fired. You shouldn't have ran from your words. Isiah is gone but the homerism may still remain. Hopefully you are a changed man.

GkFv2 - you don't have the slightest clue why and when I post dude. My life is much more complex that simply watching (or writing about) my beloved Knicks. Besides, if you knew how her gorgeous smile lights up a room you would understand an occassional absence.
Let's be clear about one simple fact GkFv. Ain't nothing changed about my loyalty to the Knicks since 1967 and it won't change until someone can pry my tattered Marcus Camby Sheik Towel from my cold, dead fingers.
Capece?

loweyecue - trump card?
I think not. More like a Joker. But this ain't SNL and there are plenty of US voters who think Palin is the answer. That, my Knicks comrade, is no laughing matter, as she stands witin a hair of commanding the entire US military arsenal and the lives of young men and women who serve.
Is the NBA season package available in Amsterdam?
True there will always be those people. The ones who thought the earth was flat, or Darwin was a witch, or Global Warming is an engineered crisis or Bush is the savior, or a presidential election is a Miss Alaska contest in disguise. So yes I can see why she enrgized the "republican base" :)

MSG is looking for people to give their impressions of the 73 championship season. That's right up your alley.

nyk4ever - thank you for the link. I have some vivid memories of the 1973 team.
Can you visualize the bombardier Jerry Lucas with a three point line?
Nalod@ 9/26/2008 9:44 AM
Jerry west's halfcourt shot tied the game, but today it would have won it with a three.
Knicks won 4-1 but momentum can be a funny thing.
Lucas was all american, olympian, but played in obscurity for until coming to NY. He was only 6-8, hell of a rebounder and could spread the offense like crazy. Wilt was not going to come out and get him!
Lucas was a euro style 40 years ahead of his time. Same with Dave Cowens, Alvin Adams and Jack Sitka! Great high post players! A lost art in my opinion.

Latest gallup poll tied with Mccain ahead in electoral. This whole thing would not be happening if Obama just took Hillary as VP. You probably would not know who Palin was. Worst off how can people who have now heard her on some issues not shut their pants at any prospective that she would be President.

Dude, you can't rely on any one poll. Go to http://pollingreport.com to get your polling info. and look at the trends.
misterearl@ 9/26/2008 10:28 AM
Nalod - as you so eloquently outlined, the creatively deployed 1973 Knicks were the prototype for a balanced and versatile attack. Lucas and DeBusschere were a two-headed frontcourt monster that could hurt you on offense and defense through fundamental basketball. Neither was unusually gifted, but they meshed perfectly.
In a similar sense, if you squint hard enough - Gallinari (should he mature and develop his diverse skill-set) and David Lee (if he can develop a consistent outside shot) - provide a glimpse of playoff potential almost 40 years later.

Q. briggs - why should ANY poll be close?
A. Haven't you heard? Barack Obama is Muslim. His wife is angry and despite having a mom who survived on sheer guts, he is an "elitist". Obama is not (and will never be) "one of us".
(and please, banging the drum for Hillary Clinton is so last month)
Did I mention that Obama is a Muslim?

Just plain scarey!
John McCain, please replace her!
Izybx, I'd like to hear your defense of Sara Palin in this clip and in the other clip with Jack Cafferty posted by Martin on the other thread.

I want to know how the 2 or 3 McCain supporters here explain this:
"Senator John McCain has frequently cited an earmark to a bill proving funds for a study of grizzly bears in Montana as an example of the worst pork-and-barrel spending in Washington. The study was included in an ad for McCain entitled "Outrageous" during the primaries. However, according to FactCheck.org, Senator McCain voted for the earmark he now derides."
martin - now picture Palin with the command of the US military and nuclear arsenal and tell me if that thought doesn't make you seriously consiedr a one way ticket to Barcelona or Buenos Aires.
Couric needs to look Palin straight in the eye and demand, "say what?"

SNL skit on Sara Palin's interview - this is their 2nd skit aired last nite.

You don't want to go to Buenos Aires...It's too close to Venezuela who is now conducting military exercises with Russia in the Caribbean...Palin may not know the difference when she decides to press the red button...

i would not take sarah too lightly. first impressions may have people thinking mccain has lost his mind. but sarah will have her say when she takes biden head on.
if the strategy should be to neutralize biden.......just watch the vp debate
this has the making of greatest upset in american politics
I will say this--I watched her on CSPAN from a taped interview in Feb this evening and she is no joke. She is intelligent and well-versed on energy issues. After watching that I think she WILL not only appeal to women but I think that a multitude of men will find her appealing to the point that they might be swayed that way. My personal opinion is she is not qualified and I would be scared to death if she was the President but when people actually get to see her in action--they will realize she is an IMPACT player. I stand by my statement--that Barack should've taken Hillary because this lady is going to impress.
lol

Senator Obama's ahead in ALL of the major polls, and by anywhere from four to ten points. http://pollingreport.com/ He also has double digit or near double digit leads in many of the swing states now. I think the realities of the Bush-McCain policies are finally hitting people.
