Off Topic · OT: Can we please put an end to some of these google adds? (page 1)

Sorry, but I wanna know if some of these adds are driving everybody else crazy. Every website I go to, and every page I click on, they have that arcade or pacman advertisement on the top and it makes the most obnoxious sounds. You literally have to have your volume off when you go on the internet, which is real annoying. I demand a pay raise, from Martin and Andrew, if these adds continue.

PS: I only want the one add that makes the arcade sounds, and also the ones with the talking emoticons. I know you have no control over it, Martin and Andrew, but can you at least admit it's annoying?

Listening to some music. I'm enduldging myself in a nice relaxing moment, when suddenly, you hear the sounds that go NEE ER NEE ER NEE ER NEE ER NEE ER!!!!!!!!!!!"

And then you click to go on another site, and it's "SAY SOMETHING!!!!!!!! WHAAAAA???? SAY SOMETHING!!!!!!! WHAAAAAT??"

Do the ads on this site have sound?

i've never had a sound ad on this site.

I use firefox & adblock.

I'd be curious to know the ad hit rate for Obama ads compared to the McCain ads.

AllanFan, you may have a spyware infestation if you're seeing this stuff on every site you visit. It sounds like no one else is having the problem on this site, and the fact that you are having it on multiple sites makes me suspicious. Do you have anti-virus and anti-spyware software installed on your computer?

You can get antivirus software free from:

Windows Defender, from Microsoft, is also free - it s anti-spyware software. It doesn't catch everything, but it is better than nothing.

It might be more of a "mental virus" though!

I always encourage 12 year olds to come to this site to learn about sports. Bonn is a different type of 12 year old though and is not welcome.

Yes, there's a trick to making the ads not show up, but it's probably better if I don't give that away. The other methods mentioned will do the trick, as well.
