.... being patient and not saying much in the beginning? a lot of us on the board were upset that obama wasn't aggressive in his campaign against mccain like the mccain camp was. it was going to be dejavu with the last election when kerry took the high road and got burned too. however, in the past week, mccain has been pretty much hanging himself with his own words constantly contradicting himself on an issue that america is sensitive about: the economy. he and palin are backpeddling on camera which is fodder for when the debate rolls around within the week. this is great since i am a public school teacher and naturally against mccain. he openly said that he supports vouchers which means he still will keep the flawed "no child left behind" act intact. obama wants to put money in schools as well as for teachers so you know i am with it instead of giving students a chance to go to a private school and weaken the public school system more which needs to be strengthen. well, i could go on but that is my opinion and the reason i am voting for obama.

Jazz do you really think the powers that be who strangled the election in 2004 and cheated for bush is really gonna allow a good guy to win and try to change the direction america is going in ? Cmon man this is america

THe polls are widening again and with over a month to go and no debates, yet things are falling back into pattern.
"PalinMania" will subside" and she is bound to blow herself up if left alone.
Remember, the more you attack her the stonger her contingents will defend her.
This election is not about convincing people McCain/Palin is the ticket, its about grabing the middle undecided vote and swinging it to Obama. The Red State Voters are going to go that route no matter the circumstances. They are in place and ready to support her.
Obama can still landslide this thing. Playing it cool could be the best path to victory. If he needs to, he can go on the attack.
He still leads in most polls.

Nalod I hope you know the polls are mediocre at best.
Who do you think they are using for the polls numbers?

playa, are you talking about electorial votes like the one election debacle? or the whole florida debacle like the other election? i think they realize that they can't really get away with any shenanigans again. the media would be all over it not to mention the backlash it will cause. they shot their rounds the last two election and receive flacked, rightfully so. the bottomline, which is what nalod said, is that the gap is widening now that the whole "palinmania" has calmed down and they realize that these candidates are in over their heads. obama has a better shot and the fact that he learned to choose his words carefully and attack the issue at hand and not merely throwing stones, which seems to be the sole strategy of the mccain/palin ticket, is key. i laugh when people are exclaiming that obama can't lead because of his lack of experience. his democratic advisors will give him probably the best cabinet members you can have because they do not want his term to fail. his campaign and possible presidential election is so signifacant that it is mind blowing. this is probably the most important election in my lifetime, cultural-wise, political wise, economic-wise and diplomatic-wise. we better not blow it no matter what the supposed "power to be" does. so playa2, because you believe this, you are not voting?

Oh no I will be voting if there's an election in 2008 , i'm registered and ready to go.
Be prepared for the revolution, this country is getting ready to blow up.
Bush is a man of war, all we need is a false flag on american soil and he has written a law that he can stay in office for 2 more yrs to 2010.
I don't undersetimate that snake in the grass.
This election has been so abnormal I don't expect there to be an election.

I have a real question and I am being serious here. How accurate/legitimate are polls? I have never been polled for any election. I have asked people I know if they were ever polled or exit polled and never got an affirmative. So how thorough are they?
izybx@ 9/24/2008 2:35 PM
The polls say that 72% of Americans think the polls are thorough

Those polls are controlled by the media and we know who owns the media.
