http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story...Mangini was good to a point but he was horrible motivating this team and making the necessary adjustments during games and from game to game. He also lost the team the last few weeks. The team needed to make this change.
I want to see Bill Cowher coach this team.
predictable and lame. Guess the prevent defense didnt prevent him from getting canned
mangini needed to go.....but favre is a diva, so mangini was suppose to just allow brett to have fun out there
No one was complaining about the Jet's defense when they were 8-3. SMH. This is Favre's fault and someone had to take the fall for this collapse and it had to be Mangini. Good luck finding a replacement that will do any better handcuffed to Favre's erratic arm.
Since Joe Willy left town, the Jets have been, overall, the worst organization in sports the past 40 years.
Favre's fault? mangini got outcoached every week. Simple and plain.. a team with 7 pro bowl players miss the playoffs... It wasn't favre's fault in oakland where mangini refused to run the ball vs the worst run defense in the nfl... vs the seahawks, on the goal line and 4th down, in the snow, he kicks a field goal.. this guy was not prepared and got outcoached by interim coaches..
The Jets defense is horrible. Why not blame that also?
Its funny how Jet fans were calling him Mangenius.....then when the Jets lose.....he's Mananus.
* Bret scrambles and launches ball 60 yards into triple coverage *
* Ball is picked off, adds to league leading total *
* Farve responds by grabbing his shoulder as John Madden openly weeps *
* Farve threatens to retire *
* Farve does another Wranglers commercial as he gazes longingly through a window, coffee in hand, and then commences to playing catch with his dog and other assorted good ol' boys

I'd call him a snitch before I ever call him some Mangenius or whatever they were hyping that slob up to be.
I like when he mouthed after the 60 yrd int "why would we do that?"
Bring on Cower. Good starphuch Coach. Pay him a fortune also!
Mangina is gone!!!!!!!! Yes!!!!!!!!!!
How are none of the Lion coaches fired before Mangini?

Favre's #'s in the 2nd half of the season are just too glaring not to assign him blame in all this... he's as much of a reason for the Jets' downfall this year as anything else IMO.
Oh, BTW since we're on the subject of the worst organization in sports, they also need to get rid of that little down syndrome lookin' ass Coles. Get him the hell out. I hate Farve with a cotdamn passion, but Coles temper tantrums and verbal love letters to Chad Pennington were beyond weak. Send him to Miami for a 3rd round pick.
Word is Cowher wont come coach in NY because he can't put his own guys in the front office. Bronco's just let go of Shanahan - he could be a good choice.
Although apparently Cowher will still talk to NY but who knows. I think either of them would be great choices - both have won superbowls, both know how to put a good team together, and both know how to coach. Or the Jets could go with the non-star coach but they did that with Mangini and Edwards and it really didn't do much. I think taking a coach coming from a winning system is a wise idea. Especially if the coach was the head of that system and not an assistant or role player.

just stay away from Spags & we got no beef.
Spagnuolo will be hired by a team this time around, no question about it.
Just read an ESPN crawler that said that Farve is going to take several weeks to decide future. SMH. I hate this fool.
Favre is an overrated attention whoring primadonna... can't stand him... just retire already & spare us the needless drama every season... even his own teammates are sick of the drama... Kerry Rhodes was like "if he's only gonna be here half hearted & doesn't wanna be in training camp with us & be with us, then no, we don't want him here."
