i think he's going to LA
The latest information that I read was that the Dodgers still aren't talking to him. The quote was 'even if he came crawling back on his knees'. That's why I made this thread.
where'd u hear this? Jon Heyman was on the MLB network the other day saying all 3 cali teams were gonna be hot & heavy after Manny in the coming weeks.

I saw it on Yahoo. I can't remember exactly were though. Which three teams are they?
SF Giants are the top suiters for Manny right now

both LA teams & the Giants were mentioned.
If we signed Manny, I'd give Cashman an A+ for the off-season. If we don't, I still want one more offensive upgrade even if it has to be much less expensive than Manny. I still wouldn't mind seeing Gardner and KG Jr platoon CF. KG Jr shouldn't be demanding more than maybe $6 mil.

An A+? You would do that for our Cashman? Um damn proud of you man. Three cheers for BONN! Hip hip hooray! Hip hip hooray! Hip hip hooray!
Ken Griffey Jr is shot. He can't play the outfield anymore. He's a DH now and not the best one either.

For a LOW price and for him to just play about 80 games at CF (and Gardner can even be his defensive replacement by the 7th inning each game), I'd do it--something like $2 or 3 mil. I don't think he'll get much more than that anywhere and this would be a great chance for him to earn a ring. As a lefty power hitter, I think he could take advantage of the short porch in RF. It's a very small gamble. I wouldn't object if they got someone younger, though. Point is that going into next season with Melky, Gardner, and Damon as our CFers is a poor and unnecessary gamble.

I always try to be balanced! I'd give Cashman at best a D for the prior off-season but I'd have no qualms giving him an A+ for this off-season if he does one more significant move that I support.
So your overall average support should be somewhere around........mmmmm.........C to C+ now?
It's okay to suck sometimes. Just as long as you make up for it at some point.
