You mean the greatest LipSinker of all time? lol. He's a dang good dancer, but he sure as in hell isn't actually singing when he's doing all of those moves. It's so glaringly obvious.

You know, I wasjust thinking that as I was watching these clips. I think most of the time, he dosnt even bother moving his lips, so its not really like he's trying to fool the public. Its not like that poor crazy girl Britney what was her last name again?

Besides, when you can dance like that, you dont need no steenkin singing.
Allanfan20 @ 1/13/2009 4:18 AM
Na I disagree. I personally could care less about the dancing, as long as he sings well. If he's just gonna lipsink, I'll get the albums or watch the youtube music videos. Then i'll go to a Knicks game to watch the Knicks city dancers if I'm in the mood to enjoy the fine art of dance. Either that, or I'll take a front seat and enjoy the drunk sluts at the nearby Long Island bars.

The way I see it, live performance is an art. There are different ways to express that.

Take rock, when you go see GNR, Metallica, Aerosmith or something like that, you expect a certain amount of heavy thrashing, angry throwing of instruments and funky guitar solos. Go to something lighter and you expect to be touched by the soulful nature of the music combined with the performance of the lyrics. Hip-hop, and you expect angry people bouncing up and down and screaming stuff.

MJ's performance art was different. His songs were anthems. They didnt need singing anymore, he had 100,000 people in the room doing that anyway. He just got the crowd excited with other aspects of his performance, namely his dancing. His songs arent conducive to live singing, they sound better off a track, so he went with that and he brought the moves to the party. Added together, it made for one hell of a show, thats for sure.
firefly @ 1/13/2009 7:02 AM
....although to you do get a happier ending with the drunk LI sluts
Allanfan20 @ 1/13/2009 4:39 PM
Sure, if I go to a rock concert, I expect heavy thrashing and bla bla, but I still expect great performances by music playing. If I want to see destruction, i'll go to a wrestling match, or something of that extent. If I want to see dancing, I'll check out the hot drunk sluts shaking their arses or maybe I'll go to broadway play, but I expect good performances there too.

Point is, if you're a musician, play music and then worry about dancing and breaking things.

All 3 of those bands you mentioned are great live at performing music, besides Axl himself, b/c guess what, he dances like he's on speed, on stage (But there's other reasons too.)

That's just my opinion though.

Yeah, I take your point man. Its fair enough to demand some content from your entertainment.

Im just saying Michael did it well enough despite not singing, that he entertained the crowds and is regarded as one of the best live acts ever. Hell, imagine how good he coulda been if he had sung!
Allanfan20 @ 1/13/2009 11:28 PM
No I agree. I can see that if you want to watch a good dancer, then go see him live. Personally though, I have no interest in his dancing. He's very talented and it's even entertaining, but I'm much more interested in his music, and if he's not gonna sing, then I don't see the point.

To each his own though. Cheers.
