That kid was abused and acting out actions that have been taken on him.
or maybe the kid's learned that no matter what he does, it's somebody else's fault, so he can do whatever the voices in his fat-arsed brains tell him to do...
I'm an adult who's a parent who used to be a kid, and if you don't put the whup-azz on kids, then just be prepared to live with that scene for the rest of your life.
It's really much funnier as they get older, too...

I think that kid got whup azzed a way too much, but we'll save this arguement for another day. Too much of a sore subject.
The symptons, to me, are extremely clear that the kid is depressed as hell and probably got abused.

Here's "Dr. Phill's" follow up, if anyone is interested...

"I'm sorry for causing all of your depression."
If that mother is letting his son know that HE'S the source of making her feel like crap, then there's real problems. She doesn't know how to be a parent. And she just said "Thank you" to him.
He's a freaking kid. He doesn't have the ability to cause depression. And he sincerely seemed to mean it. That kid needs therapy and better parenting.

after watching that, i now realize that both mom and kid need to be smacked upside the head and dr. phil has some extra "y" chromosomes in his dna.

Wait until this kid hits puberty, he is gonna tune her right out.

He's a freaking kid is right; he can't cause depression, but he can cause jaw fractures. Your logic is slightly skewed there.
I suppose all any of us need is more therapy and better parents. By the way, what would be better parenting? Higher quality day care? More toys? Less global warming? People are shit, basically, and left to their own devices, they will act like this posturing, spoiled pusbag kid. This is not a tough subject to figure out. Parenting requires more than being the end of the rainbow for every victim-mentality, enablement/dependency theory there is. If that little fart was my kid, and ever hit ANYONE like that (who wasn't hitting him), he'd get beat so bad he'd be petting rabid wolverines while they chewed his face off. Why do you think the little kid thinks he can hit an adult like that? Clearly because he was abused? No, actually abused children are more than likely fearful as children and then abusive as adults, not beligerent and assertive as kids. The kid has no fear, why is that?

It's shocking that people even think like this. You're not worth argueing with.

There are a few people here who needs a can of wup arse opened on them, Dr. Phil included...
jrodmc@ 1/30/2009 4:59 PM
Wow, I was just thinking the same thing about you. But I thought discussing it was better than being shocked.
TMS@ 1/30/2009 5:12 PM
all i know is my mom & dad whupped my ass pretty good when i was growing up & i turned out just fine... the tick in my neck only comes & goes periodically but overall i'm a well adjusted human being that's into bukkake porn.
Allanfan20@ 1/30/2009 5:32 PM
It was a little offensive, and that is why I am shocked.
But if I must, I will argue.
First off, kids are products of several things. Media, friends, TEACHERS, but especially their parents. Whether you want to believe it or not, a kid who is 9 years old looks up to his/her parents more than they do to anyone else. It doesn't matter if that parent is a great parent or a horrible parent, that kid follows what the parent does. In fact, in a sense, that child knows very little else than being like their parents. Of course every kid has his/her own personality. However, if you have a lazy child, you can more than likely attribute that to the parents not stressing excercise, chores, homework ect... to the kids, as opposed to feeding them junk and letting them play X-Box all of the time. And vice versa. If a child is cursing his mom out, like the child above, he knows no other way of communicating with his parent b/c that's how is parent communicates with her. Maybe he causes mischief, because children do cause that. All of them do, in some sense. However, when a parent curses his/her child out, hits him/her and anything like that, then that kid learns that that's how you deal with things b/c he saw it that way. So that's where the rage (Physical and verbal) comes from, in the child, most likely. Got it?
Secondly, kids know very little. Their minds aren't developed to understand values and rules and morals. They break rules b/c they don't know any better. They cause mischief b/c they don't know any better. A child has to learn these rules from their parents BEFORE they break them. Granted, as DJ said, their may very well be no right or wrong way to enforce these rules, but when a child is constantly breaking them, then he or she is obviously not learning them. While hitting may enforce these rules, it also tells a child that just maybe, hitting is OK for them to do, in order for them to enforce things, whether it's current or later on in life. I also don't believe in hurting people. I think it can be done in other ways. I wont discuss those ways here.
Therefore, when you got a parent drumming stuff like that in his head and not enforcing the rules properly, and to top it off, blaming her depressing on HIM, then you get that child above.
