my wi fi on my xbox 360 system is broke for some reason. it wouldn't be a big deal except i play nba live everyday and look for its updates which was great. i have ps3 now and figured it is easier to get a new bball game for that system than to get a new wifi adapter which would be $60 ( unless they have some left from the cricuit city sale). i just want to know which game is the best bball game for that system? they have three: nba 09 life, nba live 09, and nba2k9. i first and foremost like constant updates. the live 365 had that. however, i heard nba 2k9 had living roster which is similar. does it give updates daily like live? also how good is nba 09 life? do they have updates also? also which one has the deeper franchise engine ( love to manage knicks to a contender to 2020)? please answer because i am contemplating.

Yes 2k9 is the best to get. I bought it and it updates as promised. I did a concensus on which of the three was the best to get at all the Gamestop. It was a landslide to get 2k9

2K9 is way better than Live.
jazz74 @ 2/6/2009 8:05 AM
ok. thanks. i will get nba 2k9 next week then.

I went to Gamestop with my 12 year old boy and he wanted to get a BBall game for his PS3. I was playing 2K9 while I waited for him to make his mind and I was very impressed with the graphics and gameplay. He decided on Live 09 due to the DNA Live 365 and his friends all had Live 09 and he wanted to play against them online. Gamestop had a 22" LCD TV hooked up to the XBox 360, I am assuming it is 1080p. When we got home we played it. I have an older 52" Sony Wega projection tv that is only 1080i. I don't know if the tv made a difference but I was more impressed with 2K9 graphics. The gameplay feels the same and I am very happy with the Live 365 part.

I am a little unhappy now that matt just said that 2K9 also did roster updates.

I guess I can't complain, my boy bought it with his christmas money.

word of advice. watch out playing video games on a projector tv. i did that with my old 46 inch projector tv and it went in a year. maybe the one you have was built for gaming but i heard from other people that projector tv's usually are ruined because of video game systems.

where u can really tell the difference in the graphics is in the background & the fans in the stands... in 2K9 u literally see the team mascots dancing around on the sidelines & the fans walking up & down the aisles to their seats carrying a beer... u don't get that level of detail in Live, although IMO the Live NBA player faces are more accurately rendered than in 2K9... both games have great graphics & gameplay, but 2K9 u have more control over the shots you take... it's not just strictly a press & shoot arcade style like it is in Live... in 2K9 using the right joystick u can determine the type of shot u wanna take, i.e. fade away, drop step, post up, dunk, etc., & w/the left joystick u can control the cross over moves, behind the back dribble, low post moves, etc... it just gives u more of a realistic feel of controlling the action that u don't get in Live.

* this is a comparison based on the demo version of Live that i played, it might be different in the final production version

You guys run NBA Live 365 yet? It has not updated the team roster yet. I want to try Wilcox already.

Played 2K9 at my friend's house last night. Knicks are fully updated and way improved over their rating at the beginning of the season. Chandler's dunk rating must be getting high because he's doing some crazy dunks now.
TMS @ 2/21/2009 7:44 PM
Chandler's got the highest FG % on my team... he literally dunks everytime he drives to the hole.

Gallo is unstoppable on mine going to the hoop with an array of moves. Dude can't a 3 though. Go figure.

really? gallo is my sharp shooter on my team. he nails the threes left and right. however, i am playing in 2010 so his skills have gotten better. yeah, after the updates the knicks are ranked in the middle of the pack. go figure since in the beginning they were the third worst team on the game. haven't played the current incarnation. waiting two weeks to see the actual rotation before doing so.
