what r u writing a book or something w these crazy post topics & surveys?
haha, I was wondering the same thing jimimou.
on prostitution:
it is the words oldest profession. not saying that it is good or bad, but it's here to stay whether you like it or not.
legalizing it would make the whole process safer-- for the women and the customers.
only interracial prostitution while stoned.
you start those bong hits early, don't cha now?
taking a year off the stuff. you presented SUCH a compelling argument

HA! Bitty posted one too! Maybe we'll write a book together.
Really, I just like seeing people's attitudes and reading interesting arguments.
I voted yes. I think it's going to occur whether or not it's legal, but if it's legal, then
A) it can be made safer. Prostitutes can be required to have only protected sex and do frequent STD testing; you have to go after "underground" prostitution for this to work though.
B) Tax dollars can be spent on many important educational and social programs.

You should marry Bitty.
regulation always works better than prohibition.

Well I do like the way she thinks. And she's a bball fan. BUT I've never even met her! Bitty, you interested in coming down to Alabama any time soon? Just kidding (unless your answer is yes, of course--JK!)
Bonn is definitely not kidding. He has a plane ticket all ready to be sent to Bitty, and by plane ticket, I really mean a guy riding a horse coming to pick Bitty up, and by horse, I really mean donkey. Bonn always was a man of romance. If I were Bitty, I'd accept that proposal immediately, but a forewarning. Bitty can't get the other half of the bed. He reserves that right for his new little dog.

I'm disappointed Bonn you don't remember our whirlwind affair in Europe during the summer of 2007?
Oh, yeah. I think you said you'd be taking me to Europe in the summer of 2009. Please send me the tickets and itinerary ASAP.

Yeah. Its just sad, because the moral majority of the world would rather look the other way and have people exploited just as long as the problem remains at arms length. They would rather do this than mitigate the dysfunction in peoples lives by taking ownership of a problem and addressing it head on. As long as women are being beaten and harmed away from their roast beef themed dinners, everything is cool. Right?
It sounds funny, but the models established in Europe and in Nevada work far better than Pimps on the street in the bad part of town. This world is messed up, why not use peoples vices for the betterment of society? We are locking adults up for taking advantage of the earth's resources (smoking herb) and having sex?
Lame ass conservatives won on this one. They have established so much dogma over these issues that its going to take decades to even have a sane conversation in American political arenas.
Well, our dollar is collapsing while our economy is crashing. The stoners and hoes are waiting...
Yea, that's exactly how it is...

seb - agree and think it will take a 'generational turnover' to begin having the types of discussion points you are raising. so, in laymen's terms - you gotta get the old bast*rds who are supportive of the old fashioned way of how things should be out of congress and infuse w the generation y's.....we are 30-50 yrs away still I believe.
Im curious why some "liberal" communities have not attempted to create "hoe" zones to regulate what they cannot stop.
The spread of STD's is enough a reason!
If you don't want this in your community, then you vote it down. Be a bold move to bring up a bill like that. Could be political suicide.
That maybe the hardest part, getting someone to propose it!

Sometimes you have to lose a battle to win the war. I do not believe it would be worth potentially losing the Presidency and control Congress just to try to get this legislation passed.

I hardly think the executive office, nor would a party bring this to vote.
Im talking very much at the local level. Hence: "community"!
There is no platform by which any member of congress or senate would in their right mind bring this up.
But then, some are not of sound thought.
