Here's my answer. You labeled soccer fans, and European soccer fans and clubs in particular, as racists and therefore 'bad people'. That's not cool. You ran roughshod over the entire sport of soccer, man. The majority of soccer fans and players and clubs are not bad people. You can't let the actions of a few make you hate Europeans or soccer players or soccer fans.
And we can go back and forth about 'what we've experienced', this is pointless. Every human on earth, no matter what colour or ethnicity or socio-economic status has suffered. Life is suffering. That's it.

ummm, no i didn't cast all soccer fans or the sport of soccer that way... if you'd have read my posts instead of glossing over them you would've seen i made it a point to say i wasn't badmouthing the sport of soccer or all soccer fans this way... but you're an idiot if you don't think this stuff exists, & i'm expressing my distaste for the fact that it's even allowed to exist & that there are idiots out there that actually condone it.
I am not condoning it or denying that it exists. Simply, I am saying that we, as Americans, should not care if it exists. We can't change them and it's not our job to, you dig??

so it only exists among soccer fans in Europe? i don't get the distinction you're trying to make... either racism exists or it doesn't... i'm sure you know it does, so why turn a blind eye to it? to say you can't change how people think so there's no point in trying to is the completely wrong approach to deal w/racism... if people all thought that way there'd have been no Civil Rights movement at all in this country... i never said we as Americans should be the enforcers of how everyone else chooses to live their lives, but people have a right to attend a damn soccer event without having that kind of Nazi propaganda being on display, i don't care what country we're talking about.
You are wrong where you say FIFA and UEFA (the governing bodies of overseas soccer) do not do anything to regulate tough crowds. Over the years they imposed sanctions on the teams that have unruly fans and usually punish them by having them play at home with no fans. It punishes the team, though, not the fans. It is virtually impossible to punish the fans when there are so many of them and different ones each time. I guess you could beef up security but hooligans will still be hooligans. This type of stuff goes on in Greece too and other parts of the world. In Greece, people have been killed over soccer rivalries. It's pathetic. Most of the soccer fans in Greece are normal human beings but the select few hooligans who come to the stadium ruin the experience for everyone else. You can chant and light a flare(it's what they do there, even if it is prohibited) but don't throw things at players, don't hurl racial epithets, don't start a fight with an opposing teams fanbase and possibly kill someone over a game/team, and don't take a game so seriously.

they obviously aren't doing enough... i don't wanna hear it's hard to control fans when u see Nazi flags & banners hanging in the stands... if it takes beefing up security, that's what u do... obviously from 1 of the clips above some fans don't even have respect for police at the games, so if that happens u call in the riot squads... u MUST have control over the fans behavior during a game otherwise u'r just asking for people to be hurt or killed as a result of hooligans running amuck... & it is a damn shame that a select few idiots will completely spoil the viewing experience for most other fans of the sport.
They already bring in riot police who shoot tear gas at these tools. the problem is these guys are anarchists who just love mayhem. They will keep coming back game after game.
yeah, you're right, they live for this stuff... it's pretty pathetic that they need to find enjoyment at the expense of others around them... i'm sure there's no easy solution but that doesn't mean u gotta give up trying... can't let these guys continue to ruin an otherwise great sport by their hooligan antics.

What Nalod and a couple of other posters here have tried to do is a classic example of attempting to shame someone into not acknowledging racism, so they can feel better about themselves and try to position me as a troublemaker who has nothing valid to say. Its whatever; and typical. Only took Bip to co-sign for some of you to back off.
Hell there are two threads regarding race on this page that I had nothing to do with creating --- so there goes one of your talking points.
Dont like my opinions, fine. Thats clear. Dont like yours either. But concerning this thread I tried to defend my position, and I was met largely with non-sequiturs and the like. You cats arent impressing me at all.
