after all that i can't believe these idiots didn't even bother cooling down the turbo's before shutting off the engine... it wasn't even a stolen car.

That truly is one of the hottest vids ive ever seen! A lot of that looks like its straight out of NFS.

in your opinion, how does one cool down the turbos?
TMS @ 5/1/2009 3:38 PM
if u have a turbocharged car, ur supposed to let the engine run idle for about a minute or so before u shut off the engine after stressful driving like that... this is done to prevent the oil that's inside the turbo to dry up & cake inside the turbo housing which degrades performance over time & wears down ur turbo prematurely.

that's why people buy turbo timer units that do this automatically so u don't have to sit inside ur car while ur turbos are cooling down.

i see... but maybe this not needed on newer cars

all turbo cars should have turbos cooled down after extremely stressful driving... some newer cars come w/a turbo timer mechanism built into the alarm... the Porsche in this clip is an older late 80's model, my guess is it's a 1986 911 Turbo... i can tell by looking at the spoiler... trust me, i'm a car fanatic.

just watching the clip again, i noticed this one's wheel wells don't flare out like the older 86 body style... rather this one is probably a '95-98 version on closer observation.
