I don't think Manny was juicing... look at the dude, he's not in any kind of shape. My guess is that he took something that f'd with his testerone and he didn't know it.

You can juice and be fat. He was also a slow poke with a TON of power. He very well could have juiced.

I'm glad none of the Mets ever dealt with performance enhancing drugs. We prefer to play the game the right way unlike other organizations.

Too bad they suck big time and haven't seen a championship since 86 though.

Babe was the first followed by many using the best drug of their days to get the best advantage. Also lets not forget the fact that Ruth also used laminated bats and petroleum jelly when he pitch even after baseball banned it useage. Just file it under the old principle "If you ain't cheating you ain't trying."

(as the story is being reported and not knowing what sparked what they were talking about, i caught the end of an si writer listing an all steroids team, and they are talking about some guys, and i was like, "what about manny!?)

but i am guessing it was FAR more widespread than we are even being led to believe.

i kept saying this stuff in the a-rod steroid thread, and the chickens are still coming home to roost...and i don't think it will stop anytime soon until baseball comes 100% clean, which like AIG and the Federal Government dealing with our economic crisis and the flaws in banking, regulation, etc. will avoid at all costs, and hope eventually we forget...

get ready for some kind of distraction or showing "we will solve this problem" press conference, with some b.s. committee that won't do jack to penalize anyone...

Canseco was on the Chris Meyers radio show and was saying that if you use steroids for a long period of time your sperm count is reduced dramatically and will not return to normal for many years. He speculated that Manny might have recently gotten off of steroids and was using this drug to up his sperm count. He said that he needed to do this when he stopped.

Manny gets caught like 4 minutes after he leaves the Saux using a drug so blatantly associated with roid use. ESPN wont say a damn thing.

ESPN reported earlier that testing showed Ramirez had used hCG, which is typically used by steroid users to restart their bodies' natural testosterone production as they come off a steroid cycle. It is similar to Clomid, the drug Barry Bonds, Jason Giambi and others used as clients of BALCO.
