no spoilers. you post a spoiler and i will beat your ass.
my predictions:
- something bad happens while jack is trying to blow up a hydrogen bomb which displaces him in time making him...jacob
- 1 of these 4 will die: sayid, juliet, ben, or hurley - i am leaning towards ben (trying to save locke) or hurley (as he is charlie's proxy in 1977) but it most likely will be sayid (who's story is done) or juliet (to save sawyer/kate)
but other than that, i have no f'n clue what they're gonna do tonight.
My theory on Jacob (and it has been for the past 2 seasons) is that he's Sawyers dad. Why? In the episode where they show Sawyers parents and his dad killing his mother, they give his mother a name (Mary Ford) and she is shown at length. His father on the other hand is only referred to Mr. Ford and the only shot we see of him is from his knees down (the view is Sawyers while he is hiding under a bed). In a show that revolved so heavily around the characters relationships to their fathers, I think that is pretty weird.
I agree with you that someone is going to die from that Hydrogen Bomb, but my guess is that it's Sayid, since it seems to me like his story runs its course.
you can make a case for jacob being alot of people's dads. we also don't really know who kate's dad is. same goes for locke.

Kate and Locke both had step-fathers and their real father were never shown. Sawyers dad was shown yet wasn't even given a name, even though his mother was, even though she hardly play a bigger role. If he didn't matter at all, why even show him and call him Mr. Ford. To me, that's weird.
nyk - please don't tell me that's spoiler inspired b/c i will beat your ass...
Isn't Jacob Locke who basically needs to ease is own pain by killing himself.
I hope Kate dies. I cant stand that chick. I say about 80% of the problems that they run into is because of her.
I always figured that Jacob was Jacks dad.

Never looked at one spoiler DJ... I hate spoilers. Only site I frequent is lostpedia and I do so quite often with some of my free-time at work.

Could be. My guess is that Jacob will end up being Locke, Jacob (as DJ said and I personally believe that's the #2 to my theory) and Sawyers Dad(as I've said)
I also think that Jacob could be Jack's grandfather which is also a good guess because honestly, what was the point of introducing Jack's grandfather for that one episode where he was in it for what, 5 minutes and just to give the shoes for Locke, to Jack? Jack coulda got those shoes from his mom or even from his Mom's house. There was no need to bring in Jack's grandfather for a small part like that.
Jacob could be a few people, but my most firm guess is still Sawyers dad. Who knows though, I can't wait to find out.

Agree. Kates not even hot anymore, she looks like she has aids or something.
I think that the whole purpose that one side (Faraday? Widmore? Ben? Alpert?) is trying to change the past might be so that Locke never ends up in a position to "kill" Jacob. I think that's what this whole finale is gonna build up towards.

add jazz to the BANNED LIST.
i tell you one thing, i have never been disappointed with a lost finale and they consistently had the best finales year after year so i am very curious to see what rabbit they pull out this time.
juliet is a piece of tail. but so is hottiet. they need to get rid of jack and sawyer and make it a real love quadrangle beteen kate and juliet.
locke could be jacob - that makes sense too. but i don't think that's the ultimate plan of them going back to 1977.
in fact, my theory on the show is that none of this is really happening. i'm not sure what it is but this is all one big sham, con, or whatever you want to call it.
the whole season was about "whatever happened happened". so logic would say that they DO end up changing things.
but to break it down in a much deeper level - if this is some sort of visual reality therapy session, then part of them going back ot the past is a way for them to acknowledge how they've got to the point they are now...and to accept it (aka whatever happened happend). once it's accepted (looks like kate & co. have, but not jack), THEN they can move on from the present (2008). but that's if it's some sort of therapy psychoanalysis type situation.
also, i think richard is a bad guy.
and my thoughts of why jack and jacob are the same is b/c of the sheppard lineage in the cabin. you have christian and claire chilling out in there.
but one thing that is odd about the cabin is that hurley (of all people) could see it and find it. which leads me to believe that hurley may be much more important than just providing comic relief.

If Jack is Jacob and Locke has seen Jacob, how does that make sense? Wouldn't Locke have said something to Jack by now? Not trying to shoot down your theory. Just trying to say it's the absolutely worst idea I've ever heard in my entire life. J/K dude. J/K.

shut up for your face. if you weren't semi-retarded, i would've kicked your ass already.
i don't think locke *saw* jacob in clarity. he saw his silhouette when the whole house was shaking. so i don't think he wouldn't recognized him. and since that cabin is caught in some time/space crap, jacob could be bouncing all over time.
but if locke is jacob - that just strengthens the whole virtual therapy idea as he is confronting himself (aka his demons).
supposedly the finale is nicknamed "the fork in the outlet" by the producers.
season 3's finale was called "the snake in the mailbox" - which blew everyone away with the first ever flash forward.
season 4's was dubbed "the frozen donkey wheel" when ben actually turned a frozen donkey wheel (which i still think was mega lame).
so this one is "the fork in the outlet" - and considering we're looking at some huge electromagnetic crap, i'm guessing a fork and an outlet may be involved in someway.
