Briggs: Ignore firewhine and carry on. I think you've made it very clear that these are YOUR CHOICES, and YOUR REASEARCH and that people should do what they feel comfortable with their money. No need to apologize, get upset or even acknowledge Fireman.

As for the MS comments. I didn't catch those, but if he made them, isn't that banable?

All right--you're right unfortunately there will always be a jerk or two everywhere you go[thats the rule isnt it?] but I take what I say here very seriously because I feel responsible for *other* people's money. When I hear a derogatory comment that I promoting/pushing financial advise/stocks here--that's about as bad as it gets[and I would never do that to anyone ever] This is not the only board I give stock tidbits on and it seems almost everyone is cool about it because I produce for them. Heck if I make someone a 2k gs that is satisfying because I know it helps the person. But the last thing you want is slack like that or it's just not worth it if you can understand. I don't think the guy is a bad guy--I think he took a critical basketball opinion and turned it into a personal vendetta--but we all scream at each other at times on the hoop board because we all cant see eye to eye on everything right.

You're right, Finest isn't a bad dude. I don't know how the spat started between the two of you, but Finest is a college bball junky just like you, so I'm assuming somewhere along the lines, one of you guys disagreed about the others eye for talent and I'm sure it unreasonably escalated.

But seriously Briggs, don't let little stuff like that get in the way. Your opinions in this portion of the board are taken very seriously by quite a few and whatever difference of opinion lies in the Knicks section, doesn't crossover this way, trust me.

I'd agree with you but I thought your comments about Chandler were out of line. Therefore from this day forth I think whatever you say is wrong. If you agree with me on a topic I will automatically change my opinion to avoid being as wrong as you.

Briggy,

Few people understand how gratifying it is to help others make money and realize their dreams.

As for what and how you have handled your financial advice you have been very fair and open. I chime in at times to help and make sure that even if you are insane (your not) every ones money is their own responsibility first and foremost.

In a public forum your always going to have a few detractors.

Nobody has to agree with everyone. Fine, if you don't like the topic, then just stop reading. If you want to argue the point, then have at it.

Hey Briggs, I owe you an apology man. This is the first time I ever really looked through this thread and was pretty horrified at what I just read. Everything else aside, I did not mean to poke fun of your illness. I hope you realize that it was your delivery and the way you come across sometimes, definitely not your illness, I was commenting on. Even so, it was very unlike me and way off base. That was definitely crossing the line. It was inappropriate and I am truly sorry. I remember reading what you wrote about it - I know you've been through a lot and I'm happy for you that you've made so much progress. I remember telling you that. Hopefully you'll reconsider your position on lending financial advice to the fellas - don't change on account of something stupid and ignorant I said. Man, I really feel terrible now..

No problem man--no hard feelings. I think that the frustration of being a Knick fan takes a toll on everyone. I souldn't have called your trade a bad trade--I should've kept to myself and for that I apologize.

I'll probably stick to the OT board for the most part and let some of these new young guys talk about the Knicks. I've gotten enough words in about the team and my opinion at this point is likely stale and riddled with vitriolic criticism.
Finestrg @ 9/20/2009 8:26 PM
Alright, I feel a little better. No need for you to apologize for anything -- I was a jerk. Keep posting your ideas my man. You would've thought that by now I'd be able to swallow a little criticism and not fly off the handle like a baby. If you disagree with something I've said please by all means, continue to share your ideas. I value them greatly and I know the fellas do too. You said it my dude, we're all frustrated with what's gone on here with our team - hopefully we'll start to see a turnaround here soon. Thank God for this site, I say it all the time. Thanks for accepting my apology bro. Cheers..

What's an apology?
coolbeans @ 9/22/2009 3:47 PM
briggs needs to apologize for being the catalyst for breaking some kinda uk tradition of no-apologies. of course such an apology will just further tarnish uk.
nyk4ever @ 9/22/2009 4:34 PM
Hey, Finest is a good dude and that's what I been saying all along - when people disagree with each other on this site (or any forum for that matter) things tend to head south pretty fast, so it's par for the course. He manned up. He hung his ass out. Oohah would be quite proud.

Briggs, I hope you don't just stick to the OT section. I've disagreed with you before about players and direction, but really you bring alot to the table and your eye for talent would be missed (even though we don't want to hear about Bynum over and over anymore ) because in the end you bring up good discussion about players day in and day out.

I'm glad you guys were able to be civil though.. that doesn't happen to often here.
