i may have to start a new thread... I may be looking for a new phone but have always had a simple one. I don't use internet on the phone, but maybe it's just something I am missing and never tried.

Just calling, txting, pics. Everything else seems like overkill for me.

I'm with you on that Martin. I actually was thinking of getting a blackberry, but now I decided on getting the LG EnV3. It has like a 3 MP camera, it seems great for texting and it seems to be a decent looking design. You should consider it. It is about $129 though, which is pricey, but it might be worth it at the end of the day. It has good reviews too.

i have a treo 700p so it's not wifi but if your phone has wifi, then yes, you should be able to use it for sling.

sprint's unlimited data is the cheapest and best. i am currently paying $15/mo for unlimited data.

tms - me and su got the same plan. i got the 755 tho but same concept. w wifi - its a non-issue. palm hasnt officially come out w info stating the pre is slingbox compatible, but all info points to that it will be.....lots of reviewws say it should happen around the same time the pre is released (june 6). i'll let you know what they say after i go to the sprint store this wknd.

I finally got a new phone today. It's called the LG EnV 3. Not bad at all. I stuck with Verizon also.

Ah, the pride. Seems like only yesterday you were against phones as a general principle. And now you're debating the pros and cons of the slide keyboard vs the on-screen, the WCDMA vs the strraight 3G and whether a good browser is more important then a 5mp camera.

I wipe a tear from my eye.

Martin, with a tip of my hat to Silver, you must choose between the HTC Touch Pro 2 and the Nokia N97. For me, the HTC is the best phone on the planet, but there are those that go with the Nokia. If you want top of the range, there are no other options.

picked up the palm pre yesterday - its all they say it is and more. its got itunes sync, holds 8gigs, gps and tons of other stuff. it sync'ed all my outlook and facebook contacts and calendars in about 30 seconds w one push. just need the slinbox to comeout on it then its complete.

damn, sounds good jimi... i shoulda waited on buying a new phone... i don't even use any of the special apps for my samsung, they charge extra for each feature, & $15 for Mobile TV that doesn't even work in most places... i got suckered in by their damn rebate offers.
VDesai @ 6/7/2009 11:31 PM
Pre sounds good. I'm off contract now (have been for a few months), and I was thinking about waiting for the next Android Phone or the new IPhone, but the Pre is very intriguing.
jimimou @ 6/8/2009 8:33 AM
i spent the wknd learning different things on the pre. man it is intelligent as hell! if u dont have one, pick one up!
