ok...so now we have 2 new characters...the queen and it looks like the devil...

is sookie an angel?

and i didn't think it was possible but sookie may just be a worse actor than keanu reeves...

well, last week's show left me indifferent. love putting sookie, bill and jason in the middle of the chaos that was created when they left la. the initial encounter between sookie/bill and maryann went as well as expected though they already used a plot device to weaken maryann so to speak. i was disappointed with that. also jason's heroics was both noble and comical. his reaction when he went blazing in the bar and the minions just laughing or disinterested was classic. this part of the story was good. the other plotlines faltered somewhat and this is the one episode that seemed rushed which happens a lot with hbo shows when the finale approaches. i hope tomorrow's episode is much better because the last one has to be one of the weakest this season, though still decent.

good show but not great. shame what happened to my boy lafeyette during the show. wanted him to be strong but he wasnt. i was going to cry foul about eric flying saying they are just including problems but then someone reminded me bill said in the beginning of the show that some vampires fly and morph so i will let that past. tara is next on my list of characters i wouldnt mind seeing die. she was so stupid last night and caused the most trouble. i wonder how they are going to get out of this without killing sam. i hope they dont but it seems like the only way. guess we have to wait two weeks to find out.

lafayette's storyline this season wasn't that good...and eric is over godric already? that episode was doo doo...

well, the season finale was so so. it is following the novel somewhat with the kidnapping of bill which the next series will focus on. the way mary ann was taking care of was a little corny and rushed but i kind of knew they would do that. everytime they set up a good villain they get rid of them by corny ways like they did with heroes and lost. bill's protege took an interesting turn also. we will see how this will unfold next year. i knew eggs was going to get it but i still feel sorry for him. not his fault but i am fine with it. as long as lafyette and sam remain i am good.

eggs dying improved the acting level of the show...my goodness, he was horrid...

twas a cheese ending...and it looks like the ALWAYS awful love triangle storyline will be in full effect next season...

i thought this year was really solid 3/4 of the way through then fell very flat at the end.
jazz74 @ 7/29/2010 2:44 PM
another season and it is a little more toned down in perspective so to speak than last season's town takeover. however, the bad thing is that i think there are too many new characters that do not add any depth. sookie still continues to irk me and bill is becoming a pain. still love lafeyette and sam. sam's family storyline started off awful but the dog fighting aspect was really original and i want to see where this goes. the werewolves are a stretch and it is starting to fell like a retread of twilight or underworld. they better change it up soon. all in all, an engaging season thus far but still light years behind last year's.
jimimou @ 7/29/2010 3:17 PM
true ^ they're also trying to spice up the shock and awe value a bit....with tara biting into that dudes neck then bashing his head, lafayette kissing that other dude, etc. i like the angle on sam's family too but for me its all about what happens with eric and the king - that storyline has been intersesting - the whole warewolf this is stupid like you said. i also like jason stackhouse - that guy just kills me - the sheriff too. that's some good comedy there.

we'll see where it goes over the next few weeks but i agree with you jazz - it's been declining quality-wise year after year. still some good t&a so that cant hurt

jazz74 @ 8/3/2010 12:44 PM
i thought that it was the best show of the season. love it when tara kicked bill out of the van after the attack. also i like alcide a lot more than before. he is probably the most compassionate character on the show though he killed a couple of his kind. lol. it is great to see eric trying to protect sookie in his on devious way wondering what makes her valuable. i cheated and wiki the answer to that question and i know what she is. sorry, i had to cheat a little. lol. russell has proven to be a very good villain, maybe the best of the series. alos sam's storyline has definitely come full circle and i love what he did at the dogfighting arena. great show and i cant wait for next week.
jazz74 @ 8/9/2010 10:22 AM
what the hell, people? no more true blood fans like last year? well, anyway, the show was decent but not as good as last week. it was coming dangerously close to being a twilight show with team alcide vs. team bill but it didnt turn that way, thank goodness. i like alcide, though, and i would love to see him back. looks like jason is in some @#$% again and i think they are ghouls especially with the last scene and sam asking tommy did he smell that. tommy is an annoying character but i like how sam interacts with him so it will be interesting. now that eric officially declared war against russell, i wonder how this will play out? i never expected this to happen like that. oh, and i LOVE the last scene of the show with sookie back in a "familiar" position. you can never get tired of that. lol.
jimimou @ 8/9/2010 11:52 AM
im still here w ya jazz!

last night's episode was decent, nothing spectacular. i thought the whole fight scene with sookie and deb was kinda weak, and what is this mixed signals stuff with sookie and bill and alcide???? - that love triangle is a bit annoying.

imo, the key parts for the future of the series (other than the previews for the next show which looks like all hell is about to break loose) were:

- lafayette's mom telling him he was special - I believe he's got some special powers too that havent been revealed.
- jessica learning some kick ass moves from bill. i find her totally hot.
- sam and tommy vs the meth goons - there's def gonna be some shit there.
- eric stabbing talbot
- sookie's cousin telling her to 'watch out for bill' - i dont like that guy and still think he's got alterior motives.

in general, my favorite character of the show this year has been russell, he straight cracks me up every week.

here's a good recap from last night:

'True Blood' Recap: Episode 32, 'Night On The Sun'
Posted 29 minutes ago by Josh Wigler in TV Recaps

Episode Title: "Night on the Sun"

Written By: Raelle Tucker

Story: Following the traumatic events of last week's episode, Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin) and Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer) decide to change the nature of their relationship, but they both find out that absence makes the heart grow fonder. Finally home from Jackson, Tara (Rutina Wesley) finally has time for a breakdown. Jason (Ryan Kwanten) attempts to protect Crystal (Lindsay Pulsipher) from her abusive father and brother, but he may be barking up the wrong tree based on an unusual scent caught by the Merlotte brothers. Bill goes into Obi-Wan Kenobi mode, training Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll) in the ways of the vampire. Finally, after one thousand years of patience, Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgård) makes his move against King Russell Edgington (Denis O'Hare).

Breaking Up Is Hard To Do: The vast majority of "Night on the Sun" was spent bringing the tension up to a boil with its final series of sequences — and while that formula may have made for a relatively lackluster episode, the excitement kicked into full gear with roughly ten minutes remaining, resulting in one of the most action-packed episodes of "True Blood" to date.

First, any "True Blood" episode that features a very naked Alexander Skarsgård in the heat of the moment deserves a round of applause. But it was even more exhilarating watching as Eric fatally impaled Talbot (Theo Alexander) — and no, that's not a euphemism, as the Swedish vampire literally stabbed Russell's lover straight through the heart in retaliation for Russell's cleansing of the Northman clan over 1,000 years earlier. Here's hoping that Eric and Russell go toe-to-toe before too much longer.

Eric wasn't the only character waist-deep in blood, as Debbie Pelt (Brit Morgan) and a pack of werewolves assaulted Sookie's home on Russell's orders — but Bill and Jessica were thankfully at hand, literally tearing the wolves a new one. Although they had broken up earlier in the episode in light of Bill's recent bloody actions towards Sookie, the two lovers found themselves more drawn to each other than ever before, leading to one of the most bizarre makeup sex scenes in television history.

The rest of the episode was relatively event-free, mostly focusing on the relationships between characters such as Lafayette (Nelsan Ellis) and Jesus (Kevin Alejandro), Hoyt (Jim Parrack) and Jessica and Jason and Crystal. Even long dead villain Rene (Michael Raymond-James) made a guest appearance in one of Arlene's (Carrie Preston) dream sequences. Perhaps most compelling was the missed love connection between Alcide (Joe Manganiello) and Sookie, who both admitted to each other that they would probably be in love with one another if they weren't so dumb — but the chemistry between the two of them was undeniable as Alcide left Sookie's side to return home. It goes without saying that we haven't seen the last of these two together.

The Merlotte brothers, meanwhile, have firmly asserted themselves in Jason's storyline, as Sam (Sam Trammell) and Tommy (Marshall Allman) clearly have a grudge to settle against Crystal's father and fiance. That should be an epic showdown, whenever it comes to pass.

good one. might have to show confused with a twilight show. this is the best hbo show since the wire imo.

this week's episode was pretty good. the best thing had to be the end. loved jason taking out franklin the way he did. that was classic. also russell has to be the best villain ever on this show. he has completely snapped ( no pun attended) when he was on the newscast and his speech was awesome. he threw the first pebble into the water and now its time to see the ripples outside of the restricted southern areas.
jazz74 @ 8/26/2010 3:16 PM
yes, i like the werepanther angle now. jason's storlyline continues to be the most interesting.
