Off Topic · Is it morally wrong to pose nude for a magazine? (page 1)

Bonn1997 @ 10/24/2009 6:56 PM
Yes or no. And say why.
joec32033 @ 10/24/2009 7:09 PM
It depends. I

ie,
Megan Fox-No

Rosie O'Donnell-Yes.
orangeblobman @ 10/24/2009 7:47 PM
yes, it is wrong. and i'll tell you why, seriously-- because it just FEELS wrong. deep down in my soul i know it's wrong, and that's good enough of an answer. this isn't something that's up for discussion.
sebstar @ 10/24/2009 9:55 PM
I thought this was an orangeblob/izybx thread at first. Seems like something he'd ask.

Hell naw its not wrong as long as the broad looks straight, like Joec said. Whats so vulgar about the human body? I dont get that. America is so uptight when it comes to any sort of exhibition of sexuality. As a country we've been hijacked by middle america.

I tend to share your view. We're the only species that must cover the body and even use all sorts of expensive products to correct for our visible imperfections. I think it's part of human nature, not just American culture. Americans may do this to a greater extent than people in other countries, though. That said, I personally wouldn't pose nude for a magazine but I also wouldn't judge someone as immoral if they did.

Is it morally wrong to pose nude for a magazine? I say emphatically not at all. Its posing nude on the internet thats wrong.
Bonn1997 @ 10/25/2009 1:22 PM
Why? What's the difference?

your half right. I feel the same way about nudity. America is sooo uptight. Phucks sakes people freak when a women breastfeeds in public!

HOWEVER

IF your posing naked for a mag your selling something and sending a message out there about you.

arkrud @ 10/25/2009 9:47 PM
Morall is wrong regardless.
Just a way to police people's mind.
Newr worked never will.
Nalod @ 10/25/2009 10:41 PM
Bonnie, of course you won't pose nude cuz who the phuch cares.

If you got somthing to sell, then someone will pay for it.

Its the demand.

I agree with Sebby that we are way too uptight in this country which might be all the religious fear we breed into our ute's and maybe thats why our rape crimes and pedophile numbers are so darn high.

Country was started by Pilgrams, a group so uptight even the Brit's couldn't stand them!

I believe everyone should have their own moral standards. Who am I or anyone to judge someone else. As long as they are not hurting anybody, who the fark cares.

Yes to Megan Fox also.

word... if u don't like it, don't look at it.

maybe no one here realizes what is at stake. posing nude and engaging in similiar behaviors serves to commodify and cheapen the human body in the long run. bombarded with pornography and sexual images all the time, we gradually become numb and unable to fully appreciate and care for a real woman. the restrictions that some are quick to call 'uptight' can be looked at as positive restrictions that enrich our interpersonal lives with the ladies and add value, substance, to our relationships.

Again, I just think we recoil at the human body based on the fact that we've been informed by a sexually dogmatic environment here in America. You dont see this sort of stuff in European countries for the most part. Is National Geographic pornographic? Were the cats that walked around butt ass naked in biblical times engaging in vulgar activity?

Selling an attractive naked body is no different than many things that are used as a commodity. Now some of that nasty, hardcore, porno stuff thats on the net is a different story.

Damn, at that shot at Bonnie. LOL.

Real talk, tho. The moral majority's outsourcing of sexual repression has manifested itself in some very dysfunctional ways. The cats that jump on their high horse, and the folks that so enthusiastically co-sign them, are usually the ones with the dirtiest closets.

Why is the human body, "pornography" tho. If we were less restrictive about sexuality, perhaps we wouldnt be so hung up and intimidated over a pair of tits.

its fine to have your own opinion blob, just dont push it on the rest of us like you know the answers to who came first chicken or egg. i'm trying to help you man, dont take it the wrong way, your posts just come out a bit condescending and i dont think you're that type of guy...me, fishmike and marv were actually talking about you on saturday night & the uniqueness you bring to the board so step it up son!

as for the topic at hand, its funny how the US is stamped as conservative, middle america ruling, etc but those are some of the same cats that are engaged in the kinkiest of sh*t.

my family reigns from greece and i spent all my summers there growing up. nudity was accepted. if a chick wore a top at the beach, people would look at you like you were the wierdo. plus, nudity is on mainstream tv there as well....and let's not talk about some of the stuff going on on asian tv - those dogs are flat out nuts w what they show & do on public tv. point is, i think its a matter of where you are socialized. personally, i have mixed feelings about posing nude. dont think morality has anything to do with it, but i wouldnt want to see my wife or daughter naked in a mag for all the rest of the world to see.

with all that said, i've been through the alba thread front to back so many times, i can tell you what page each hottie is on.

Thats a great line by itself!

orangeblobman @ 10/26/2009 3:49 PM
it's not about a pair of floppy boobs but a greater loosening of discipline that will spell the end of life as you know it today. what will follow is a hedonistic backwater society where anything goes and no one gets anything done.

and thanks jimminou for the props. and i wasn't condescending at all, i just see it as a truth that one of the results of over-sexed society is a gradual desenthyization to normal women. it doesn't help that the particular type of woman that is being flaunted in ads and movies and magazines is not your average lady but exclusively a REALLY hot lady, this makes everyday, otherwise beautiful women feel inferior and it makes the men courting these ordinary women expect too mmuch. the result is an obvious mismatch of values that can't end in anything good.
