i did like the first 2 spider-man films tho the last one was mess. but i like what raimi did so i am upset he is leaving. however, i think he took the franchise as far as it can go. now they are going to reboot this like batman. i hope they dont screw it up. spider-man is such a good character with great villains. hope they use mysterio as a villain. he would translate well on the big screen.
i wasn't much of a fan of the Spiderman movies to begin with... Toby MgWire is not the fast talking wise ass Spiderman that i grew up reading in the comic books, he's a dork.
i heard he's leaving b/c the next film will feature a younger peter parker in high school so toby too old to play that role.
well, a huge chunk of spider-man's best stories were during his high school years so that is fine. if they are going to do a reboot, i hope they wont go the "dark knight" route because this character is not like that. like tms said, i want him to be the wise cracking hero he is meant to be and they should have a comedian being him.
did marvel get back the rights to make the movie?
dc comics has opened up their own films division like marvel and they are looking to re-boot superman again also.
spiderman 2 = superman 2
spiderman 3 = doo doo brown
re-boot and new cast was required. mary jane was supposed to be smoking hot...not kirsten dunst. and gwen stacey looked more like gwen stacey if she ate kingpin.
i dunno who's got a whacker looking gf in the movies, Spiderman or The Dark Knight.

lol. that is true though she lost too much weight now and lost her breasts that she had in the first one. that rain scene was still a sight tho. if they are going to be in high school, they better use gwen stacy then. she doesnt have to be hot tho but a very cute girl nxt door.
man, this is why i want this film to fail. sony decided to save money they hired webb, a director that directed only one film before, tho good ( 500 days of summer), is not a tentpole film. so they are going to mess this up. on top of that, the budget for the movie is 80 mill. meaning a whole lot less of spidey and a lot of talking and melodrama. is this what sony thinks of its number one franchise???? saving money on a franchise that made 2 billion dollars for your studio? come on.
