YEAH BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
TMS @ 1/17/2010 8:13 PM
i'm happy the Jets won cuz my older bro is the biggest Jet fan i've ever met... i hope u guys make it all the way.
nixluva @ 1/17/2010 8:15 PM
One more win baby!!! I told all these guys we would wear them down with our run game and hold them down with our D. They're talented but soft frontrunners. Once we figured them out and started smackin them in the mouth they couldn't take it.
PresIke @ 1/17/2010 8:15 PM
yeah, congrats, from a life long giants fan!

i actually have always been supportive, and always felt bad for all of their bad history for decades.

nice win in a good game to watch.

nixluva @ 1/17/2010 8:19 PM
How great Ryan? I love his cocky winner attitude! Too often in the past we've played scared and like we didn't belong on the field. Now we have supreme confidence.
TMS @ 1/17/2010 8:22 PM
going for it on 4th down was a ballsy move... if they don't get that 1st down & Chargers drive to tie the game it would have been second guessed bigtime... but it worked out, good for him.
cooch2584 @ 1/17/2010 8:28 PM
I watched the whole gameBIG JETS FAN HERE!! After watching the first half and all the trash talking the chargers were doing the Jets just let their game do the talking.Honestly they were happy to be down only 7 pts at half. But the thing that got me and it was in the second half when the chargers commited that first turnover the chargers stopped talking and you could see their confidence drain. They had their heads down and stopped being so hyped up.Did anyone else notice this??
PresIke @ 1/17/2010 8:28 PM
it was a big call, but i think it was the best one to make in that situation, as simms and nance suggested.

you gotta go for the win there on the road. a chance at not letting them touch it versus a chargers offense that was gaining momentum, and the style of play at the end of a game works to their strengths.

there was only 20 yards to gain by punting it, and the chargers offense was seeming more confident than their defense late.

you also have the best running game in the league, and you have to put confidence in your team.

even if they didn't get the first, the clock runs down with little time left putting the chargers in a tough spot.

CrushAlot @ 1/17/2010 8:31 PM
Amazing game. Beating the f'n Chargers in San Diego. One of the most exciting things I have seen as a sports fan. The Colts woke a sleeping giant.
cooch2584 @ 1/17/2010 8:31 PM
I dont know which commentator said it but he said that when that charger player kicked the challenge flag the refs shoulda looked the other way!! WHAT THE H E LL WAS HE SAYING??
BRIGGS @ 1/17/2010 8:35 PM
Jets are like a good knuckle ball pitcher--the other team knows what is coming and it looks easy to hit--but they cant seem to get the darn thing. It's like playing the old Princeton basketball teams--they work it around--shorten the game and then stick you with backdoor cuts when you get tired.
You always have a chance when you play good D. Very long term jets fan--so Im letting it absorb in slowly--Indy will be tough but I think we have a very hood chance to win it--in fact I think we are even with the other 4 team despite record--although the Elis injury is concerning.
PresIke @ 1/17/2010 8:35 PM
that was simms.

i think his point that it was a big game with a lot of intensity and that while not a good thing it wasn't a big deal.

cooch2584 @ 1/17/2010 8:39 PM
It was a stupid statement
cooch2584 @ 1/17/2010 8:40 PM
He actually wanted the refs to look the other way. What is the NFL,the NBA?? hint hint
tkf @ 1/17/2010 9:53 PM
I think what people overlook, is that the jets as a team were willing to stick with sanchez and theyknew they would sacrafice some regular season wins, but if they could get in the playoffs, theycould do some damage with a great defense, running game and a QB who has a regular season under his belt.. Honestly, i watched every jet game this year..easily this was a 11 win maybe 12..

whenyou have a team that is #1 in rushing, #1 defense and #1 scoring defense, you have to take them real serious and ignore their 9-7 record... Cincy and the chargers found

Go jets!!

Nalod @ 1/17/2010 10:17 PM
The Chargers got that fist down the next play and the touch down so kicking the flag was not game changing. It was a over done call. If he picked it up and wiped his ass I could see, but this was a big moment.

Jets remind me of Parcells giants. Start with defense, grind the running game and use the pass when you can. Sanchez reminds me of simmms, but He has a big upside this rookie! Giants would win by capitalizing on defense turnovers. Same today.

Got top defense vs. top offense! Great matchup!

nyk4ever @ 1/17/2010 10:18 PM
im as big a giants fan as they come but i have no problem with the jets, i've always rooted for them (obviously not when they play the giants) and 99% of my friends are jets friends. had everyone over today and before the game we siad we'd take shots everytime the jets scored a TD or got a pick, so it was a good time. i cant believe the jets are still playing.. unreal.
JesseDark @ 1/17/2010 10:29 PM
I've been a Jet fan for a long time. It's too early to get giddy, but man I'm glad they are within one game of the big one.
VDesai @ 1/17/2010 10:32 PM
Rex Ryan really deserves a lot of credit. He has done a great job with that D this year and they really shut down what was a very good San Diego offense today. I think it would be some irony if the Jets were able to beat the Colts, who basically let the Jets get into the playoffs. Be careful what you wish for!

yea, I have been a diehard jets fan since 81.. when we lost in the mudbowl to miami with richard todd, that broke myheart as a kidd.. my friend worked for a brokerage house down here in Atlanta, and richard todd worked there as well, was one of the bigs there. My buddy told him, my friend is a diehard jets fan, and is still heartbroken from the mudd bowl... He said, richard todd , just shook his head and said that is one he wants to forget about....
