clottey definitely hit pac harder but didn't try to win the fight...not enough heart...

pac win unanimous decision...

Mayweather getting trashed for not fighting pac...the drug testing came up...I think pac has something to hide but who knows...

clottey came to collect a check.. pac was too quick.... looking at pac's face you would think he lost compared to clottey who had no damage.. but clottey covered up and defended all night.. pac threw 1200 punches to clottey's 299.. fight was not even close...

it's really frustrating to watch guys like clottey...it's his mental make-up that prevents him from taking the next step...Had he open up a little with more uppercuts because pac was right there and hittable...Could have been a different fight..not saying he would have won but he would have been respected...

If Pac had something to hide so does Clottey. Both guys are unbelievably ripped. So maybe that's why the fight happened without incident.

Floyd though must have done some performance enhancing himself in the past. Maybe even present but knows when to stop and then calls out a fighter he might face over it.

Bottom line is Floyd dodged Pac. The potential drug situation is an excuse. No way Floyd has been clean all his life. Most aren't. You just don't look like that through training alone.

Seems like the only thing left of interest in boxing is Floyd vs Pac.

I think Floyd is worried he can't pull his hit and run routine for an entire bout on Pac. Yet if he's going to claim he's the best then you have to fight the best. So man up Floyd, juice up if you have to, and have at it.

Boxing for the most part has really ruined my like for it with all the bullcrap and fixed scoring and pathetic fake showings like Floyd-DeLaHoya. That was such a sham.

Meanwhile, Hopkins/Jones II? LMFAO. I'd rather watch Holmes-Foreman fight in their late-50s than that.

Some guys just don't know when to retire. Probably nearly broke and need the prizes to keep going.

Nothing left in boxing. A real shame but there are no great boxers left besides for manny and floyd. God I wish Calzaghw would come back. Now there was a fighter worth watching.

Slappy Joe, Slappy Joe, SLAPPY JOE CALZAGHE!!

Call him what to want, he was the most exciting boxer I've ever seen in my generation. Go to YouTube and watch his fight against Lacy. What he lacked in punch power he more then made up for in unrivalled foot and hand speed. He was a real boxer, not just some 'roided up pinch hitter. To this day I regret he never fought Roy Jones in his prime. That would really have been a battle royale.

And I always loved how his opponents always, ALWAYS made reference to his "slapping" before he slapped them all down. You don't get 52-0 and unbeaten through a 17 year career from just slapping.

I'm just needling... I have an immense amount of respect for Calzaghe. (but it is insanely fun to reference him as Slappy Joe to one of his supporters.... sorry man ) I saw him fight Roy at the Garden and wish they had fought when they were both in their prime.

Nah its cool bro, I enjoy defending my boy. Besides, I can always mention Peter Manfredo Jr if we want to discuss US boxing embarrasments.

Joe has his detractors and I get that but I dont think Calzaghe ever advertised himself as a big puncher. As a boxer though, he is way up there.

This is part 1, you can link through to the rest. What I love the most about this vid is the US anouncers who start off jocking Lacey massively before realizing Joe is in a whole different league. They start talking about a "surprise" and by round 3 they're already talking about Joe "putting on clinic".

I also love the fact that this fight went the full 12 rounds. Its a conssumate destruction of a boxer over the entire alloted time, not an early finish, but for 12 straight rounds Calzaghe literally pummeled the US' next big thing into next week. One of the best fights Ive ever seen IMO. Up there with Hatton-Kostya Tzyu

Clottey basically fought the fight not to get knocked out. He wanted to say he went 12 rounds with PacMan and he did. I dunno if that puts him above the other guys that Pacquiao has wrecked, but Clottey got what he aimed to do. He probably should've been able to muster more offense but he was not winning that fight. I do think Clottey was a better opponent than Cotto was for Mayweather and Clottey got jobbed when he fought Cotto several months back.

Everyone says that Floyd can't beat Pac and he probably can't right now. Floyd took too much time off to get back into the ring with someone like Pac. A couple more tuneups before it happens IMO.
