Carmarshmelo shall be a Knick. It makes too much sense to not happen. Suck it, Denver.
Think about it Lebron spurns us and Carmelo comes in to save the day this guy will be hero the city will go crazy. It's interesting though Amare said he spoke to Carmelo and Tony Parker and they wanna come to Ny, he didn't mention Lebron until a reporter asked him are you gonna call Lebron.
Now I have to go through a season of Knick fans bashing the city of Denver as a horrible place to live.

Don't worry, we'll bash San Antonio also.
Can't wait for Donnie to spin this, well we never said we were gonna build in one year etc. I'm not blaming him though I'm sure he did everything he could but what can you do when you're going up against Satan i mean Pat Riley .
I don't think you realize that if LeBron doesn't go to Miami that he's staying in Cleveland. His family wants him there. He loves it there. He has no reason to leave.
If this is a smokescreen, it's a smokescreen so that he doesn't look like a big diva. He could pretend he was thinking about Miami to justify him flying to Connecticut from Ohio so he can announce he's staying in Ohio? I mean, seriously, that's attention whoring. But if he plays it off as him having a hard time over the decision and spurning 2 great players to stay at home then he comes out looking great to his fans and his home town. It's a PR win.
The last bit of hope I'm clinging to is, why would Lebron's people start leaking that he's going to Miami, when he clearly wants to keep it as big a secret as possible to boost the ratings of that ESPN show? It doesn't really make much sense when allegedly someone in his camp starts saying "you should be talking about Miami". This could mean that it's either a smoke screen to cover up the new york leaks a few hours earlier, to try and keep the suprise element, or more likely, they carefully orchestrated the New York leaks AND the Miami ones in order to maximise the hysteria (mission accomplished!) and maximise the number of people tuning into to that stupid show!
Basically after the boost of enthusiasm yestreday, we're right back where we started: clueless!
I have stopped myself from commenting on the FA topic, because I was not seeing a point in speculating. But hey, lets be honest: If it is true and those 3 team up in Miami, its what you should expect from 3 Elite players, knowing how to play the Game of NBA salary cap and the game of basketball.
All this hate for them teaming up and stuff... Isnt it the goal in sports to win as many championships as possible? Isnt it the right thing to set your ego aside and be the best TEAM you can be? Thats what they would try to do. At least on paper, there is no better solution to win 'ships then to build up a dream team. Sure, Bosh/Bron/Wade wont be alone in the spotlight, but the players of the HEAT could need both hands to have enough fingers for their rings.
That said, they would instantly become the team to beat, the team to hate and yes, the team to envy! It would be Heat against the World, and deservatly so. But it would be a damn good Heat against the world...
...on paper!
In reality I think they will have to ask for the right to play with 2 balls, and even then they wont have enough touches to satisfy 3 egos as big as theirs.
That said, I think until 9 PM you will have at least 2 other favorite destinations for LeBron, and who knows, in the end even I will get out at 3 in the night to see who will be allowed to kiss his highness' butt
Couple things....
-ESPN has lost just about all my respect as a sports reporting/news franchise. They have broken the most important rule in sports journalism. They have become a (major) part of the story.
-The NBA will have to take a reactionary measure during CBA negotiations to make sure this never happens again. Not doing so jepordizes the integrity of the league. Too much stuff that really blurred the line happened. The meetings, the recruiting during the season...
-The players union will have to look long and hard at this. Another free agency period like this could mean a major overhaul to the process. Guys had quotes and actions that tarnished the reputation of the sport.
-Fuck Lebron. I wanted Carmelo anyway. I did start to get excited about him coming yesterday afternoon, he is a great catch sad I honestly want to see DW and MD justified. However, he is showing signs he can't handle a major media market. There is a flipside here that noone considered. LBJ in NY could have been an unmitigated disaster.
-LBJ is looking like an alpha dog talent but a follower personality. I really think his lack of conviction hurt him. He was having so much fun with this during the season and then when big boy time comes he is indecisive to the point of almost being cowardly. Like a 5 year old who doesn't know what to say.
-Bosh should now and forever be referred to as "Wade's lapdog".
i'm not so sure the league hates this...
the knicks sold out season tix on the chance that lebron was coming...
all the rumored teams probably benefited from ticket sales, and people who don't usually care about basketball are talking about this...
all positives for selling the nba...
sure, diehard fans of the few teams, especially the knicks and cavs, and maybe the bulls, may hate this, but the league has survived with the knicks as a side joke for a decade...

source says miami frantically trying to move beasley in a 3-way deal. Nothing done as of yet.

Why would they have to rush.. is this all for the show so James can say he is definitely going to Miami? What if they can't move Beasley?
Tommy Dee is not a source. Things are getting real now. Let's eliminate him from future discussions.
dude, you need to stop posting this about Tommy Dee. 100% inaccurate. Thanks.
wow, if this is true, then screw lebron. taking the cowards way out and latching onto d'wades coattails since he can't win a championship byhimself? it'll be interesting to see who starts complaining first when they aren't getting enough shots.
hopefully that rumor about randolph/lee is true and we can bring him in and build a team to destroy that big 3.. here's hoping for Melo next summer.
seriously. lebron to MIAMI to play for DWADES squad??????????? you gotta be kidding me. king james my ass, no king goes to another dude's KINGDOM. more like king wade, bosh the jester, and lebron (insert derogatory nickname i don't know anything about kings and monarchies)
i am going to boo lebron unmercifully for the rest of my life.

this sentiment shared by people in chicago, cleveland, and now NY. great job LBJ, alienating all of america. enjoy that great miami crowd, bunch of octogenarians in haiwain shirts. what a f-ing joke.

hahaha seriously.
another question... would david stern actually allow this to happen? would he really want 3 of the top10 players (you can argue about bosh being in there) who also happen to be 3 of the top young bright stars of the league on the same team? let's just say that miami wins a few championships in a row here, there is going to be another team that tries to do the same thing and the leagues talent is going to be tilted so heavily onto two teams that the league would be a joke. what would be the point of the regular season or even watching?
Again, this doesn't make any sense to me. Miami will always be Wade's team. They named it "Miami-Wade County" for Pete's sake. And how about the pressure? If LBJ, Bosh and Wade form the Triforce of Power it becomes a zero-sum game. If they don't win the championship they'll be a laughingstock. And if they do win, won't it just be shurgged off as "Well, they had better win with those guys."
Not to mention what you guys already brought up: LeBron immediately becomes a diva super-villain. Though after this free agent farce, he may already be there.
Then again, if he joins the Knicks he'z awesoemz!!!1
lebron is the biggest douchebag i've ever seen in sports. far more of a douchebag than a-rod ... so he's gonna go be dwayne wade's wing man... oh lord ... what a loser.

you're in a rush to be pissed. i mean, passionate.
LOL.
Honestly though I would just wait until it is official before commenting on this in any way.
We've seen the rumors spread from team to team to team each and every day. It's pretty silly to hang your hat on any given article or rumor no matter where they have this whore going.
If he doesn't come here then we have the ability to build a team with other players. If he doesn't come here I can't dislike him more than I already have.

Now we gotta hear Steven A Smith just shoot me. I have lost all respect for Lebron I thought he was one of the greats and wanted to be one of the best of all time I was wrong dead wrong.
he can only be 1 of the best of alltime if he comes to the Knicks?
No if he was the leader of a team if he stayed in Cleavland or even went to Chicago or Ny, Miami is Wade's team
Kareem was the 1 of the best ever, but the Lakers were Magic's team... ARod is 1 of the best ever but the Yankees are Jeter's team... i don't think u have to be the man on your team to build a legacy as 1 of the best of alltime.
that is different.. baseball is stat driven... the yanks are jeters team, but A-rod will win The league MVP's and probably pass bonds as HR king.. in baseball, there are plenty of balls to go around.. LOL... if A-rod hits 50 homers, there is nothing to stop TEx from doing the same thing the same year..
In basketball, there is just 1 ball, if one guy dominates the ball, it will take from someone else.. have you ever seen two elite wing players on the same team who dominate the ball ever win a ring?
its not the right mix. The championship formula has always been 2 stars... 1 and 1A, surrounded by role players. Its Kobe and Gasol. Odom, Artest, Fisher and Bynum dont need the ball in their hands to makes the Lakers better. Bosh is a good rebounder but its going to be a couple of years before they can put the right role players around those guys.
I still cant see Lebron going there. I think its Cle/NY and have all along.
Oh, and who would be more hated?
LeBron/Wade/Bosh?
Or the NBA team who would take Beasley off of Miami's hands to help make this happen?
