Great thread. Thanks for bringing it back. Just watched the Dead on Fallon's show. They sounded good but Phil wasn't with them. What's up with that?

Was surprised that Adele's wikipedia page didn't list Candi Staton as an influence.

Always thought Guns of Brixton was a Clash tune. This is an awesome version.

Great singer/songwriter. Really good band as well.

Lots of old school tricks....

GustavBahler @ 9/24/2016 4:44 PM
Its old school because it has a Billy Joel reference from the 70s, and he's from NYC. Good enough for me.

Rest in peace Rod Temperton. Temperton wrote some of Michael Jackson's greatest hits from "Off the Wall" and "Thriller" including the title tracks (Off the Wall was my favorite.) Also wrote some of the biggest hits of the 70s and 80s for other R&B artists.

Put it on and was thinking about how bad I was at roller skating when my wife pulled me up to dance. Great song.

Saw him in 90 in Toronto with Linda. One of the best shows I have seen.

Four rows from away from having the worst seats in the house but still one of the best concerts I ever saw. My girlfriend/ future wife was really pissed because I didn't get her a ticket and because she knew it was a party crowd I was going with. Happened a lot but she liked Paul.
