I voted No. My problem with him is he's not that bright. Maybe it's just my tendency to hate all ISO players but I tend to group them all into the type of people who are sort of brain dead and don't understand that basketball is a team sport. He should also understand that by forcing a trade, he made whatever team he went to weaker, which is actually counter to his goal of 'winning a championship'. Maybe that wasn't his real goal, maybe it was all about the money.

look, MANY nba players had a past. stoudamire had MAJOR problems throughout his teenage life and early nba career. melo was a knucklehead too. remember we are about 4 years remove with him fighting at the very place he calls homecourt. but people grow up. anthony carter was a street hustler and he turned it around. so i am going to say no because he grew up.

Racist is a term some people use when they think someone is being racist. Why not just say he is a selfish player, or a ball hog. Why does he have to be a "thug"?

I'm not the first by any means to use the term "thug" on this forum. I just created a new thread to increase a discussion that had occurred in another thread about the character of a player who we've committed max dollars to for four years.

okay, then explain. how has he acted in the past year that makes you think he portrays that thug image? tats, swagger? he isnt out there throwing coaches under buses or getting into fights. like i said he has been a knucklehead in the beginning of his career but he has done nothing in the past few years to be labeled a thug. i think lebron is more of a thug and unlikable than melo by a longshot.

I wasn't referring to you specifically, my comment was intended for everyone. The topic is discussion worthy, but you know what happens when race gets involved.

Bonn, I am dissapointed in you. I have stated a number of times that the term thug is a thing of the past, and it rarely gets used, because people who are upset about racism (And they have every right to be) find the term offensive. Yet here you are using it. Not cool.
