tell me about your hiking, what is hiking? tell me where you do this, how much fun you have.

we didn't call it hiking, when i was a kid, about 6 years old. before the war started.

but i would go into the mountain forests of bosnia with my father, we would pick mushrooms and just walk around.

no trails in bosnia. just forest.

this was best hiking ever. but now, i fear those same forests are laden with landmines. this is unfortunate.

i plan to return to the village of my family and set up a little organic farm there, and write, this is when i am older. it is idyllic if put into the wise hands of a man that has lived in the empire and returned to tell the people how to live.

Nice story. walking in the woods is "going for a hike" with purpose of just being there.

You "Hiked with your dad and picked mushrooms". You walked with your dad, in the woods.

but i picked mushrooms, and we ate them later.

many parts of bosnia, maybe to this day, are still untouched wilderness where you can pick a mushroom and eat it. kill a bunny and roast it.

my dad was a biology teacher at the city high school and took me to the school to look at slides under the microscope.

these are good memories of a good country; i will never understand why yugoslavia had to break up in such viscious bloodshed.
