In case you haven't had the pleasure, you can get a $50 fine for not coming to a complete stop before making a right on red.

Applying the brakes, and the lack of any oncoming traffic, at an intersection with fine visibility, do not seem to be a consideration.

I would also like thank all of the bad drivers, cell phone talkers, makeup appliers, over-zealous (thanks Clyde) nose pickers, and poorly constructed intersections for screwing me out of my cash.

I hope at least a few pennies go towards improving the crappy roadways in Suffolk.

Sorry to hear that man. But hey, at least you didn't get any points on the license, because that is a moving violation afterall

Fine #3.

The second fine was for a light that turned green for about *3* seconds (gotta love when that happens)... after it had been red for minutes. This was one of those intersections where the lights stays red seemingly forever, so I said screw it and squeezed through behind the other two cars that were lucky enough to make it through.

It's not like the other traffic was anywhere near ready to come through the intersection anyway... the like was green for us for like 3 seconds!

And fine #3 was for another "right on red". God forbid I don't come to a complete stop and count three Mississippi's when there are *no* cars anywhere in the vicinity.

Meanwhile, I've never been in an accident in my life... but I'll try to change my driving habits now to accommodate the Suffolk-County-Red-Light-Screw-You program.

Blow me Suffolk County.

The key is to not be passing just as it turns DRM yellow to red. If you see yellow you can stop, then go after it turns red. I'very came to a complete stop in the middle of intersection just as it turns red., stood there for a little while, ppl honking and all that, then continued on the red to clear intersection- no ticket. Come to think of it m, I doubt what I did was safer then crossing at the end of yellow- beginning of red, but hey safety is not their concern, making money is. As much as hate it when I am forced to perform an unsafe maneuver, it beats paying the ticket. Good luck next time. Newer navigation systems mark intersections with cameras also. Handy when spending lots of time behind the wheel.
