Knicks · we need big strong fast guys to add to amare (page 1)

I dont see how the heat will match up with the depth and overall talent of the Bulls. We are WAY down in the pecking order--we need a miracle offseason.

I like the optimism here.

lets not over react. I think Miami will beat them. First half of that game heat defense was looking dominant. Look for some lineup changes and look for guys to box out and the outcome will be different.

We do need big strong fast guys tho. Chris Singleton is the guy who fits our need for a defensive presence. Hes not a center, but he's big strong and fast. There is no better player to come in and play right away and have an impact than him.

Vmart @ 5/16/2011 12:11 PM
I agree with you. One thing that standout about the Bulls is not so much the players they have but how well defensively they are taught. They are very well taught especially in the team defense aspect of the game. You can see they trust their defense and their coach, they buy into what the coach has to teach and the execution of the defense that the coach wants implemented. When defense is emphasized all year long it shows in the playoffs all the hard work put into it. Our boy needs to understand that and get with the program. Since he is an offensive genius he should be more concerned about the area of his flaw and strive to be a defensive genius too.

WHat is the "State of the union" for Briggs and the coach?

GustavBahler @ 5/16/2011 12:52 PM
The Bulls played hungry last night to a man, can't say the same for Miami. The Heat might want to get back to letting Wade and Lebron taking turns being the main offensive threat.

I agree that we need some height and attitude in the paint. After watching that roundhouse put back dunk from Taj Gibson, I could only think of Jeffries pump faking in the post, trying to decide if he should try and put the ball in the hoop

Most of us knew that we were giving up a lot to get Melo, fortunately Donnie is still here to finish the job.

Yea they also have players like Noah, Deng, Gibson and Boozer who are either great defenders, great rebounders, or both. To me, it IS about the players they have.

BRIGGS what do think of KMART as our center?

Im scared dalenbert would be a bust once he gets here might be afraid of the pressure

KMART is 6'8'' at most you don't want to go that route.

I am not sure how to answer this. KMart plays big and can play great with Amare. KMart would be a good add coming off the bench. He can backup both C anf PF spots.

As i said in previous posts. Id rather have KMART who plays with heart and plays Defense rather than having someone who is big yet soft.

So VMart who would you rather have Channing frye who is 6'11 or Ben Wallace who is around 6'8 to patrol your defense?

You have to remember this isn't the KMART you grew up with in NJ. He is a shell of himself. With that said he is no Ben Wallace at this juncture in his career. He is injury prone and can and has missed critical games for the nuggets. I would have to say Frye is the better option at this time.

I would have to agree that Frye would be a better choice today. If we go on the Hot Tub Timemachine then KMart.

Donnie needs to get us the Knick version of the Davis boys. We need 2 C/PF type players that are tall and nasty.

gimme chris singleton. can play either forward spot but will bring defensive toughness and tenacity, plus he's a hell of an athlete. can guard 2/3/4

I would look at PG first before I look at the bigs for the 17th pick. I am hoping that Jimmer or Kemba falls there first.

RonRon @ 5/17/2011 11:53 AM
I agree we need real centers and athletic pf/c but I dont believe we have to draft one.
I would be happy with Dalembert or Kris Humphries for the MLE.
Greg Foster for LLE
2 D league talents

draft sg or pg BPA, I am not going to draft a Center or PF if the talent is way greater in the PG or SG.
Would rather try to get 2 D league players with a athletic 6foot 11 players like Sean Williams.
resign shawn williams
try to sign another g/f in the raja bell/barnes/shannon brown form

If we can't use the MLE for Dalembert and Humpries

maybe split it up and try to get players like

I would of course try to sign these players at the minimum and see if they bite to play in New York.
Greg Foster
Dampier
Nazr
Reggie Evens
Kurt Thomas

Anthony Parker
Shannon Brown
Barnes

Petrius
Stojakavic

I would take a shot and use the MLE on Yao Ming if Dalembert and Kris Humpries are no longer options.
I know he has injury problems, but I think its a risk we have to take.

I wonder what is the value of TD and Fields.
I would like to keep them and see them develop but I would throw them out just to get an idea of what their value is in the summer.
I think TD has the potential to be a 6th man type role at the very least.
His defense wasn't great this playoffs but I believe he can be a lockdown defender. He needs a shot blocking center to back him up. And another defender with quickness and athletic ability at the G/F role. In our bench a player or 2 like Sefolosha, Sean Williams.

Imagine

TD
Sefolosha *looking for a player with similar attributes and game*
Shawne Williams
Sean Williams/Turiaf
Samuel Dalembert/ Sean Williams/Greg Foster

while this team would probably have probelems scoring, and Sefolosha has no way of coming except for a trade.
I want you to visualize a team without any of our starters and give you and idea of a team with
athleteticism, length, quickness, and defense with this squad. These guys can all run and fast break...
Its a squad we can easily try to get and have the right type of players to preach defense to.

One problem with the team above is that TD is the only ball handler and I believe you at least need 2 players especially because TD isn't the greatest decision maker.
With that said, I look for him to improve greatly this summer

Why do we need a miracle offseason. Are we supposed to win the NBA championship by next season?
