Knicksfan - a while back I read an interesting statistic on the limited number of NBA players selected after the lottery level who actually turn into legit NBA contributors. The list is not not that long and the stats on second round picks who succeed is astonishingly small.
The talent in the first round is not at the bottom and the second round is the biggest crapshot of all.
There is a reason Landry Fields was such a shock.
It goes like this:
First round 1-15, college guys who can play basketball
First round 15 and over - college guys who can play basketball who have some flaw to their game
Second round 1-15 - college guys who can play basketball who have a significant flaw
Rest of Second round - college guys who would not get picked at The Rucker for a full court game
My hope now is to get either Biyombo or Vucevic and either Morris, Shumpert, Jenkins, Cole, Lee, Jackson or Shelby. Actually there are so many PG's that will be left i'd be OK with several of them. My gut tells me we will end up with
Vucevic and Morris in this years draft.
I love big PG's and this kid has great court vision and a QB arm. Morris isn't a speedster, but he's a kid that loves to spread the ball around and we really could use a player like that.
I love Vucevic for his overall game. He's not gonna blow anyone away with spectacular dunks but he seems to be the perfect MDA style C. Can play inside and out. Rebounds and defends. Has big strong legs and will get bigger and stronger. He's got good feet and long arms. High BBIQ. Just a solid role player. THe kind of Jeff Foster type guy that lasts forever in the league.
nixluva - this is no time to be greedy.
One quality basketball player is reason to celebrate. Until further notice, the NYK have ONE draft pick to use wisely. One. The rest is simply rumor.
Chant for Darius Morris.

I just have a strong belief that the Knicks will buy a pick and go after a PG with that pick. It's not farfetched to see the Knicks landing Vucevic and Morris.
