LeBron didn't get touched. Not at all. That's why he is being singled out.

And he is one of the best players in the game, so that means every other player will start to emulate, and that is an awful precedent.

Another reason? Did you see or forget about The Decision?

Emulate? Too late for that. You think Lebron made this up all on his own? Flops have been going own in the league before Lebron could walk.

Most of our favorite/Beloved athletes can only wish the decision was the worst PR moves they ever made. Lebron never gets into trouble off the court, no drugs, firearms charges, baby mamma's, baby's out of welock, racist remarks, etc, yet he's one of the most hated athletes because he held a press conference on ESPN (who offered him the platform). Again it was in bad taste, but he was a 25 yr old who wanted to recreate the college recruting atmosphere.

I think a lot of Knick fans are bitter that he didn't come here even though he never promised us anything except for being guilty of sporting Yankee hats and saying the Garden is his favorite place to play. We took it and ran, and bought into this NY is better than every other city nonsense and now we take this "How dare you choose another inferior city over us." I just think the hate is way over the top.

Dude, the Decision was the worst PR move you could make short of commiting a serious felony like rape or murder. It was poorly planned, badly executed, and just a fundamentally bad idea from the start. So, yes, people will hate on Lebron for disrepecting the fans that paid his salary for seven years. The flopping above is just terrible. We watch basketball to watch basketball, not wrestling. If I wanted to watch a bunch of grown men flying around from fake throws and fakes hits, I would watch WCW. I thought the league imposed a tech system this year for you to get a technical if you flop. What happened with that??

The fact that you are comparing a press conference to someone being murdered or raped constitutes this as one of if thee worse post I've seen on this board. Wow! Awful comparison.

damn. lebron is king. king of silly excuses. shawn marion doesn't buy it.

One, when you are 6-9, 250, and built like a tank flopping tends to be counterproductive. Wade can get that call. Bosh can get that call. A flopping Lebron is like a flopping Dwight Howard. It is just not believable.

Second. Is Lebron's female acquaintances like the coochie tree of the NBA? For real real. Does this really show the utter lack of respect other players in the NBA have for him?

Do these guys see doing lebrons mom or girlfriend as a conquest? Vicious rumor?

Can't this guy keep his head straight in the playoffs?

Is this girl stupid? Does this cut her off?

LeBron James gets texting all wrong

http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/blog/ball_do...

By Kelly Dwyer

If you ever want to be reminded of why people have a nigh-on impossible time rooting for LeBron James(notes), just wait a day. Something, even if it might be apocryphal, might come out.

Like this nugget, from Mike Wise. Mike doesn't make stuff up, but while the player he's quoted might be passing along fables, it runs so close to the nasty ideal that James has lived up to over these last few years, that it makes sense:

For example, a player recently told me LeBron had contacted him about possibly joining forces in the offseason, though he was cryptic about where he actually might play. The text began: "Yo, this is King James."

"I was like, 'Give me a break. You're going to call yourself that?' "the player said, on condition that his name not be used.

"Do you think Michael Jordan texts people by starting with, 'Yo, this is His Airness.' Come on, get over yourself."

First of all, Michael Jordan doesn't text. He calls. It's kind of what makes him so scary. In a world full of people with social anxiety disorder hiding from their ringing phones, MJ is on the line, waiting for you to pick up.

Secondly, yeah. This is sort of what happens when you're a national superstar two years before you're even done with high school.

James is such an unholy mix at this point, that his martyrdom has almost become expected. It's a nasty amalgam of having to work under the biggest spotlight sports has ever produced, while being told you're doing everything right by those immediately surrounding you, while hearing that you're doing everything wrong by those who are just a step outside that circle. Nothing, no matter the talent and regardless of accomplishments (James' Heat, lest you forget, are two wins away from a championship with two potential home games left to go in their season) that may come as part of the package.

It's why people name their kids "Blanket." It's why Gwyneth Paltrow thinks she can help you raise your children. It's why Paris Hilton thinks we care.

On the bright side, King James, at least you can still entertain. Start cutting harder, finishing quicker in the shot clock, and drop 30 in Game 6 on Sunday.

Before we hear another embarrassing anecdote, even if it isn't to be believed, on Monday.

Didn't Michael Jordan win a title after his father died? Why does the media compare the two?
