You trade a player drafted 30 for one drafted 6 - all things being equal. We need a backup (or starting PG) more than we need TD's offensive abilities, that is the truth considering out team. Flynn is not a liability on offense, at least not from inside the three point line. His last year in school (think he came out after two years) he averaged just under 7 assists a game and 1.4 steals. We could use that.
Depending on what we give up it wouldn't be a bad deal.
Im just worried about his size and longevity over an 82 game season.
If we can get him for a deal like
Flynn and Webster(Salary dump)
for
Douglas and Turiaf(expiring)
Minny would get rid of 2 redundant injury prone players and the Knicks get a PG and a Solid Shooter.

That's the only real concern I have. Well, that and the turnovers but Flynn has only played one full season. I watched him play last season and it was obvious that he wasn't 100 percent but he didn't look hobbled or anything like that. The lockout might be a blessing in disguise for him and us if the Knicks sign him. A healthy Billups and Flynn could make things easier on Stat and Melo and spread the floor.
i wonder if the knicks feel like flynn can be a felton type player in this system? i would be okay with that.

And a half season under MDA might pump up his value for CP3. I gotta believe that this is the real angle.
Excellent post. Couldn't agree more about the triangle offense bit.
Now that I have seen the youtube goodness, Of course I do this! He looks like an allstar!
Is his head small or an oversized headband?
The Syracuse vibe is all around.
Are the Lakers moving away from the triangle? Might think Dallas might offer for TD after the 84 point turn around his rookie year. Still with Rubio expected to come and Flynn fallen from favor in Minny could see this as part/deal being discussed. Question is who will coach Minny? And likely not to be done before draft day for hope of better offers. Likely would hinge on passing physicals at the least.
CAA/Syracuse/Melo certainly seems to have gotten Dolan's ear eh.
I think I'd do it, if Flynn's hip checks out.

and, to a lesser extent,
, Boeheim, and Coach K/Team USA
Hahn pointed out that Knicks could've had Flynn in Melo deal if they wanted him. Things change I guess, but maybe this is just being floated out there.

If this is true, then someone on the Knicks doesn't know what they are doing. And Walsh does know what he's doing...so who screwed up??? We took Corey Brewer from Minny in the Melo trade, didn't play him, and then bought him out instead of taking a young PG like Flynn, filling a position we desperately needed.
Yes because it's pretty clear that Douglas isn't really a PG, but Flynn still has that chance. Remember, he was out for a decent amount of last year
I think Flynn's injury might have had something to do with them not getting him in the Melpo deal. Wasn't an all thing's being equal situation.
I would hold on to TD...
He played the entire season with a bum shoulder. He can score and defend and his outside shooting is improving.
He started the season on fire until he had a gimpy shoulder that he played with the rest of the season.
I think TD will be a good player with a very long career. I would like to watch his development with a full season of tutelage under Billups.
I think TD will develop into a strong backup PG in time.

Yeah, Jonny played like crap when returned to the lineup. TD is a better player now and I'd rather keep him. I'd have to see Flynn some more and show improvement coming off his injury before I felt comfortable bringing him in.
Id trade Toney for a 3rd round pick. So yeah Flynn isnt a bad idea lol

You took the words out of my mouth. Hahn must be really wrong here. As you said it makes no sense. We needed a backup PG last year more than a good player who plays defense who we were going to cut anyway.

I doubt Flynn was on the market then. Rubio just signed, which is why the rumor started. Also, Flynn was injured and TD was needed for the playoffs. This isn't a static scenario

We are also forgetting at the time we were still looking to 2012 and having as little money on the books as possible. Maybe this signals a change of plans.

"Thats a Bingo"!
TD was our backup and bringing in a new player, even if healthy would have been very disruptive. TD had to play with bad shoulder especially when Chauns go hurt.
Fast forward to future, the rumor if true then perhaps has legs today as this would be a good fit.
Billups, or Mr. Big Shot could play the 2 with a PG. A stretch with
Flynn
Chauns
Amare
Melo
fields
is small ball for sure, but could run the pants off most teams!
I'd do this in a split second. TD has showed what he's got, and it ain't involved in making other players better. I'm ready to have a bona fide backup PG now.
