Although some valid points are made, I just get the feeling that if both of these players were still on their old teams they would be getting votes in other categories. There's so much anti NYC bias coming out of ESPN it's not even funny & even though I hate them as a team, if we're gonna be the bad guys let's at least be like the Yankees & win a bunch of titles (even if we have to do it with our checkbooks)!!!
Please, Pau Gasol is one of the 5 best power forwards in the league? How do you define power forward? Or is it just a number? Maybe tall soft forward.
This is just stupid. In one article, they mention Pau as a top 5 PF. And in the other, they mention him as an underrated center. pff
I liked that they did the rankings, but they are way off. Just the fact they have Griffin as the top PF in the league and Gordon as a top-5 SG makes little sense. You would think with two of the top players in the game they would be at least a playoff team. But they aren't ready to be one, just like Griffin isn't ready to be considered top overall PF and Gordon top-5 SG. They will both be there soon, but as of right now:
PF 1.Dirk 2.Stoudemire 3.Gasol 4.Griffin
SG 1.Kobe 2.Wade 3.Ellis 4.Manu 5.Joe Johnson 6.Martin 7.Allen 8.Gordon
This is just a small sample of a bad set of rankings.

Yeah but that would be like ranking Turiaf as a top 5 player if we won. Gasol was exposed this year as incredibly mentally soft & w/o being next to Kobe he's not even in a top 20 discussion of Power Forwards.

Yeah, and I love all those runs Memphis had deep into the playoffs with top 5 pf Gasol. Stat was going to the playoffs this past year playing with what amounted to trade fodder and a rook who was playing out of his mind.
