Where did you read that?

hes raw, is what i mean. I like him, he just learned how to play the game within the past couple years, going from REALLY BIG/WIDE.
hes not the fanciest player but he makes use of what he has. He just got in shape at Kentucky within a year or 2, and slowly learned the game.
From doing a layup, using his body, the fundamentals, a bruiser, that didn't have any skills. After working hard, he gets in shape, because he really wanted to play
and contribute. Now he is considered a pro athlete but still has a lot more to develop. You can't help but to cheer for this guy....
from bring his game to NCAA and contributing to make a run, when he couldn't even run a lap or 2 without huffing and puffing...
now he has turn it around and made it to the Pros, where he will continue to learn and develop.
do you really not see it in Jorts? I love the guy, he is our version of Scalabrine....
b4 he even got in shape, anyone would have laughed the at the thought of him making it the NBA.
do you really not see what I am talking about?
Does anyone have a video or a link to a video of that shot?
Wes Unseld was big wide body and an HOF all star MVP Center at six foot eight.
I will repeat, "Wide body".
Jorts is a big dude. Im not saying he is Wes Unseld, but he can have that good big white reserve center we have to compare him to.
Not saying he is fat, he is just a very large person! Legs like tree trunks.
Kid is from Missouri.
I don't get the fat label on Jorts. Like Nalod said, he is a huge man. He is burly.

nalod - outstanding. Wes Unseld is an absolutely perfect skill set comparison.
Unseld also understood the angles, boxed out the sun and could make a mid range jumper in the clutch.
One more thing... no one ever mentioned baby fat to Big Wes face to face.
Willis Reed was another center under 6'10" that was burly. Nothing wrong with him.
crzymdups wrote:Jorts was fantastic with Kentucky in the NCAAs last year. Really impressive. I got stuck with Kentucky in an office pool and watched all their tournament games. He and Brandon Knight were very good.I see Jorts as a sort of Mike Doleac/Scott Pollard type for this team. Which is fine off the bench.
I think he's more skilled than those guys but not quite as big. I see him as a better Brian Cardinal or Malik Rose. His regular rotation will be 10-12 minutes off the bench where he will get you 4-5 boards, score a bucket and bang inside.
BUT
ESPECIALLY this year with this nutty schedule he's the kind of guy that will give you some spot starts or 30+ minute games because Amare's turned an ankle, Chandler's in four trouble, etc etc normal NBA season stuff. He's a guy who knows his role and he's going to enjoy playing his part.
One of my favorite moments was Jorts was doing some super fancy dribbling around two little kids after the Sunday open practice. One was Melo's son and Jorts and Melo seems chummy and to enjoy a couple laughs (probably laughing about Bonn's comments).
Its NICE to count on role players to be role players. Not hoping and praying every 2nd round pick on the roster is going to be next undiscovered star in order to have a .500 season.
fishmike - Harrellson is nothing like Malik Rose.
This young man can actually shoot.
